0300 0301 0302 0303 0304 0305 0306 Misfire. Step-By-Step How to fix it.
The easiest way to fix it is:
1. Get 5-10 litres of V-Power or similar, depending on how much petrol you already have in your tank and if you have more than 20 litres I would suggest to remove it for now.
...and possibly Wynns Petrol cleaning solution - I did use it too.
Leave it running.
If that won't help Go to step 2.
2. Clean or replace all spark plugs if necessary.
Examine the coil pack(s) and/or cables and replace if needed.
If this won't help, repeat step 2. and check if the spark plugs are flooded and if they are you just need to keep cranking the engine (ideally with battery charger connected) or get the car on tow and start it on the second gear. You can't do it with automatics though.
If you only have one or two of the above error codes, then your case might be more complicated.
In my case all cylinders were misfiring, except for cylinder 4, which means that there is no possibility that all spark plugs and/or coil packs failed at the same time. In my case, this was caused by some kind of ECO 95 Octane Bio(?)FuelCrap that I filled my tank with in Germany, August 2013. I started having problems with EML (Engine Management Light) since then.
Eventually I managed to fire the engine with apparently only one cylinder 5 misfiring. I left it running for 5 minutes and the engine was fine...
I did replace the coil packs and the spark plugs, but that was not the problem in my case.
If you need to read codes, you can do this by pressing both brake and accelerator pedals and count how many times the control light flashes. See this video: • 0300 0301 0302 0303 03...
You can only do the pedal trick with automatic 2.6 and 3.2 engines. Not sure about the 3.0 and 2.5.
