This Miso Lentil soup is high in Umami, which provides a big boost in flavour and savouriness.
In this recipe we are addressing some taste changes that can be a side effect experienced by some people during and after treatment. In particular with this recipe, we will be using some ingredients that might help to boost flavour and saltiness.
Recipe:
4 cups - Water
2 tbsp - Miso Paste
1/2 cup - Red Lentils
(optional) 2 tbsp - Dried Mushrooms
1 tbsp - Lemon Juice
Bring water up to a boil. Stir in miso until it dissolves. Add lentils and mushrooms, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for about 15 minutes or longer if you prefer the lentils to dissolve. Finish with a little lemon juice. (optional) Also, you may want to stir in 1 tsp of honey to help boost that salty flavour a little more.
