Meeeee, too! Had no idea there was an official term for it.. I've been listening to sound energy constantly to help counteract the frustration, discomfort, and truly irritating physical feeling I get from hearing trigger sounds like car doors closing repeatedly and crockery/glasses making connection with a kitchen bench. And had stumbled across the term. And now I understand a little part of myself better. Now, it's time to desensitize by listening to simulated trigger sounds. All the best, fellow Misophonians!

Guess I'm one too then lol? I have misophonia but also have Asperger's Syndrome, C-PTSD(complex post traumatic stress disorder) & Pmdd/Pme (premenstrual dysphoric disorder/premenstrual exacerbation). Hopefully I'm going to move soon & get away permanently from the abusive downstairs "neighbor". Neighbor ain't even the right word man lol I'm just going to say downstairs tenant. The managers are also bullying me. When you ask someone to stop doing something that makes a certain sound, & they respond by doing it worse than before. Or they look at you like you're the scum of the earth and then ignore your request. 🤦♀️

Thanks for your comment. When those closest to you don't understand you, nor make an effort to try to understand your condition & sometimes it's a complete stranger who does, there is literally a sense of "I'm not alone in this." That's a great idea to listen to trigger sounds to help counteract! I'm gonna give it a go! All the best, fellow Misophonians!

Same here I felt calm when this sound started. I was trying to prevent myself from acting out because of my parents scraping their metal forks on their plates, I try to find ways to help my misophonia because these triggers really get in the way. There is no real cure but there are some resources and things that can be helpful. I use headphones and sounds like this when I know I'm in a situation where I'll be triggered. I found this website to be helpful, it provides tools to help people deal with misophonia, misophoniatreatment.com/. I hope more research is put into misophonia because having misophonia can definitely be troublesome.

Sounds like misophonia. I guess there’s a lot of different levels of misophonia. For me it helps to avoid trigger noises when I need it, to listen to sounds like this video, and most of all: to find ways to release the sadness or anger I get from those sounds later on (movement, screaming… ) so that it doesn’t accumulate in my body ❤

it’s not rly a science but whenever someone has misophonia (my experience at least as someone who has it) they get triggered very easily by repetitive sounds and it causes anger, anxiety, and sometimes in extreme cases rage. noises like these help dim the noises around us so that we don’t get triggered by these daily sounds. hope this helps!! c:
