I remember when this happened. I was a teenager and it was scary to think that murderers were hanging out in Ashe. There was also some talk of the victims being pushed in alive. What a terrible way to die. If they didn’t die in the fall just to lie in pain until you finally died. Remember the Nashville Flame wrote a song and performed it around the county.

Over forty years later this is is still talked about here. This and the woman from the "Throwing off Place". My mom was supposed to be there when it happened but had to work.

Gary Miller was actually from watauga county. I think he later became a preacher in prison
