I love it. Hunley tries to outsmart Ethan by keeping the PM in the room, imagining that Hunt knows they’re there and is waiting to strike. And of course not realizing that Hunt is so skilled at understanding people that he knew Hunley would do this and as such put himself in the one place Hunley would never expect him to be… all this of course AFTER tricking the PM into implicating Atlee and confirming the Syndicate isn’t just a myth. Easily the best scene in the entire series.

“Immune to any countermeasures” one of the best discriptions in any movie, TV show, book, comic book, and any other form of media or story telling I’ve ever heard, ever. What’s even more ridiculous, is Hunt was right there the whole time, and was the first to call the prime minister, right after Director Hunley gave that description. One of the things they lost going from the TV show to the movies was the idea that IMF agents are truly secret agents. They never revealed themselves, never grandstanded, just set up the dominoes, knocked down the first one, and made an exit. The one time they "took a bow", so to speak, was because the villain killed an agent, and it was a shocking deviation from the norm.

“You set back us uk relations to the American revolution” Hunley seems to be forgetting 1812-1814 But if I was a big tough CIA man I’d also choose to forget the time the Royal Navy set Washington DC on fire. Most people say it was a tie (well Americans do) even though we burnt down your capital and USA sued for peace at the end. USA didn’t burn so much a candle in the UK. Uk wanted USA not to trade with napoleon USA wanted to expand westward Uk wanted to set up a Indian state in Ohio/Michigan area USA wanted land in Canada. In the end nothing changed, nobody got what they wanted, borders and territories remained the same. Uk didn’t stop French trade or create an Indian state USA didn’t take any of Canada But did expand westward. They held territory in Canada and we held it in Maine. Worth remembering that during this war the uk was fighting napoleon emperor of Europe. so the American war was just a side project we weren’t really invested in it until napoleon went into exile and we were free to give you all we had. That’s when we sailed up the Potomac river, went into the white house, ate all the fool, drank all the booze then set the place a blaze. Same with the capital building. Infact the reason it’s called the White House is because the American had to whitewash it again to hid the fire damage. So USA got something it wanted, expanding west. Uk got something, stopping the USA invading or annexing Canada So you could argue Nobody won the war except Canada since this threat from the USA led to them becmoming stronger and more ready to defend their frosty home, but the level is of damage we inflicted n makes me think we won, especially the symbolism of burning the White House. I believe the USA won more battles but they had the home field advantage, and what does matter if you win battles but dont get the spoils like Canada if you can’t liberate Maine from British occupation.

You lost tons of battles in the great lakes and New Orleans whose victory gave us leverage in negotiations. once our brand new nation with next to no warfare experience got it's bearings we made you realize a war with "the colonies" would be far too costly for "the most powerful empire in the world" at the time, 200 plus years ago. Atlee is a chief of MI6. He’s in the management level which the identity detail tends to be more public and transparent.
