I've heard many covers of Mountain's classic Mississippi Queen and I applaud Mike's exceptional performance. It's not just the notes and the phrasing, but that all-important "feel" that he's put into the music that makes the song really come to life here.

Thank you kyle! Keep playing dont do what I did. I played on and off, since I was 16, mostly off life was happening, had 8 lessons in 92, learned more than I self taught myself in 10 years. Then I didnt play for 15 yrs. Gave up sold all my stuff and quit guitar 5 yrs ago lasted 1 year missed it alot so I got some new stuff and started playing again, now I`m 67 and have time to learn. I`ll never be as good as the young people of today, and I`m on borrowed time but I sure like playing. Fun stuff!! I truly hope you are playing at my age!! Best wishes kyle. Rock on brother :)

Mike, might I suggest you crank that Marshall up to “twelve” and try again…great cover man!!! What is the amp sandwiched between your cabinet and Lead head???
@mikethomas1645
5 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment! Heres the deal, I play along with youtube songs on my TV through my surround system, cranked to about live band volume, my amp head is switched to 10 watts, and the volume is on about 4, its jammin loud in here. Im using a cheap samsung phone to record so my video and audio is pretty crappy ( I need a better camera and mic, maybe this year I can get one). Thats a home made 3 space rack box, with some 90`s rack units, A Alesis Quadraverb effects unit, a Korg digital tuner, and a Rocktron Hush unit ( takes away any amp hiss and uncontrollable feedback if I let go of the guitar while its cranked up) Ive had monster amps,(100 watt 5150 head w/2-4-12 cabs) but I like this little Marshall more than anything Ive ever had! I did put 2-12" Greenbacks in the cab.
@suzukiyesteryear
5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, Mike. That four-twelve cabinet sounds great (as same with the quadraphenia sound system)! I was just pulling your leg on cranking to twelve. At 73 years young, I’m currently sporting a 6505II (120W) amp with a two-twelve (Creambacks)cab. Simply overkill on the amp but it does wake up the Gods when pushed… Keep postin’ brother…
@mikethomas1645
5 ай бұрын
@@suzukiyesteryear Oh cool, same amp I had, got it new, it was the first 5150 that came out in 91 I think. Your 6505 I think is the same amp, but I had 2 4-12s. I could have played a arena!! (which I didnt) It was way over kill. This marshall is just a 2-12, DSL20 head. This little amp will crack the plaster.
