Great song! Love the musicians and love the words. Being a 'preachers kid' I couldn't agree more with the lyrics. Great posting.

This song fits the bill. Tells the truth about a lot of hypocrites walkin around trying to tell people how to live their lives when they don 't squat themselves.

Yeah, the lyrics are so completely straightforward. Dangerous words back in those days and a lot of guts to sing this . People have NO understanding of this sort of thing now.

@TamarZucker Sam Chatmon isn't in this picture: it is (L-R) Bo (Chatmon) Carter, Lonnie Chatmon, & Walter Vincent; L (fiddle) & V (guitar, vocal) were the basic unit that recorded under the name "Mississippi Sheiks"; Bo had a good solo career, but recorded occasionally with L & V, sometimes getting separate billing. In person, the "Sheiks" were these guys, plus a "cast of thousands"--mostly other Chatmons, incl. Sam. (Apparently, Sam liked to inflate his own contributions later in life, though.)

Some of them do, at the start. But so many get deluded by the trust and power thrown their way. Others really don’t believe. The whole world’s had its fair share of corrupted religion.
