It's insane how few interviews she does. Her creativity and lack of fear to be different is everything. I always loved how she had several artist in her music videos just to support each other.

Judgin' by what she said in da interview, it sounds like less of "lack of fear" and more so a desire to do it, even in fear.

I was born in 87 and grew up watching a lot of cable TV, with a sizeable portion of that being MTV. She always had the dopest music videos, along with others like NIN, Busta Rhymes, Manson, and Beastie Boys. So many songs from 1990 to 2000 are inextricably ingrained with their accompanying videos in my mind, and Missy's were so outlandish and unusual for their time that they will stay with me forever.

Not sure how I feel when people refer to Missy as a "female MC" or "my favorite female MC". Missy is a legend among all emcee's! On the other hand I understand how difficult it was to be a female artist in a male dominated industry and how important it was for her to rise above all obstacles as a female artist. She did not let the industry change who she was and plowed rose to the top because of her strong talent. She has written hits for so many artists and her music/videos are always next level. She is in a league of her own. Years from now the music world will acknowledge that she is a mastermind in the music industry. A female who dominated and supported other female artists throughout her career.

A TRUE PORTSMOUTH VA HOMEGIRL! SHE AND MY SISTER MISSY GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER! THEY WOULD HANG OUT TOGETHER AT OUR HOUSE. MY SISTER PLAYED SOFTBALL IN THE SUMMER AND MISSY WAS A PART OF HER SOFTBALL CREW WITH ANOTHER OF THEIR CLASSMATES NAME DALE. WHEN I WAS HOME, MY SISTER MADE ME SOFTBALL TEAM VAN DRIVER. MISSY WAS IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VAN CRACKIN JOKES AND JUST BEING PART OF THE CREW!! BACK AT OUR THE HOUSE, SHE WOULD BE SINGING IN THE HOUSE (WITH MY SISTER (SHE SOUNDED SO DOPE) AND I REMEMBER HEARING HER IN THE HOUSE AND I TOLD HER SHE SOUNDED GREAT. THEN SHE SAID THANK YOU AND SHE REPLIED, AND I QUOTE "ONE DAY I'M GONNA BE FAMOUS". AND I SAID, IF YOU STAY WITH IT, YOU DEFINITELY WILL. VERBATIM. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT. CONVERSATION! I HOPE SHE REMEMBERS IT. AND OF COURSE, THE REST IS HISTORY

It's funny how she described Teddy Riley's assessment of her five girl group singing two-part harmony. Because that became the style of so many latter successful groups like 112, jodeci, Etc, with the stacking. I feel like possibly male groups are valued more with their numbers than female groups.🤔

I appreciate the countless contributions Missy has given the music industry. Her, Tim, and the Neptunes change the sound of music. The dirt roads in P-Town statement is 100% FALSE. IDK about my other P-Towners but we ALWAYS had paved roads in our city and so did the other 6 cities. Those tunnels you took to get to Timbs house in the beach couldn’t have been a dirt road. Please don’t make our city seem like Mayberry because it is far from that. VA All Day!!
