I've been suffering with mononeuritis multiplex for 16 months - my left thigh was so numb you could have put a knitting needle in and I wouldn't have felt anything- I'm chronic but improving with exactly this - vitamins include benfotiamine- good diet - daily walking and cardio gym sessions- waiting for oxygen therapy

I was recommended lyrica by my neurologist but I never took it after googling tremendous side effects of these anti-convulsant medications, they don’t treat anything (might reduce some pain but will never treat it completely), so I just focused on diet and exercise and included all the supplements that I was not getting from my diet properly (b complex vitamins, algae oil for omega-3 fats(dha and epa), flax seeds and chia seeds for alpha lipoic acid, vitamin D, acetyl-l carnitine and vitamin E). In addition, i have been doing exercises and yoga that maintain proper blood circulation in the body as well as to brain. My facial numbness is almost gone and by following proper diet and exercise, m sure this problem will get treated from its root causes! In addition, I have said good bye to processed, spicy and all kinds of junk foods, have quitted all packet foods, and focusing more on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. Also quitted processed sugar(taking stevia now) and most dairy products(which do more bad than good these days). Have been vegeterian lifelong and will continue my journey as a vegan now !

@jash2199

@@aSm8full agree! Schwann cells are actually the fats that cover the neurons and whenever you have any neuropathy or nerve weakness, it’s due to problems with myelin sheath that these schwann cells provide to neurons.. as i am a vegeterian, my diet mostly consisted of carbs than fats. I never ate fish or any other source of omega-3 fats except nuts and seeds which provide only ala and not dha and epa. Since i started taking algae oil which is actual source of dha and epa and not the fishes, i observed remarkable changes in my neuropathy! Also proteins and other micro and macronutrients have a lot of role to play in maintaining healthy nervous system. I find these natural and no side effects things far more better than their allopathic alternatives!

I wish that the media would only promote medical info from qualified/licensed medical practitioners. In my opinion, chiropractors and self- proclaimed "experts" should not be doling out advice on this subject. (Ditto for advice on nutrition...) How about instead, interviewing a neurologist on the subject of nerve damage? I would have more confidence in that type of info.

Clearly you're not familiar with the research. Everything he touched upon has been published in double-blind, peer reviewed journals and published in the Journal of Neurology, the British Medical Journal, et al. Harvard Medical School and Mass General Hospital have also run clinical trials supporting what Dr. Thai went over. You should do a better job with your homework, next time.
