I have the same guitar and also love it for it's jazz tones and great feel. What would you say a Gibson 175 has over the Premium 175? I can't see why anyone would pay four times the price for something very similar.

Nice playing! I have a question, do you know why in some ES 175 (Gibsons or Epiphones) the split parallelogram inlays are bigger and/or larger in some models than in other? Thanks!

Super tone and jazz feeling! Are you using a set of flatwound strings? Do you use .11 or .12 or ? Many thanks!

+Nick Hammer Thank you for watching. I used Daddario flat wound .11 at the time of this video. Although I've changed them to .12 now for better tone and picking control.

Is the guitar called Misty? Or the song called Misty? I wish I could play like you, man. You have great talent. I have the same guitar in Sunburst. I kinda regret not getting a Natural. But I love Joe Pass so I felt Sunburst was the one to go with.. I also like Pat Metheny though. It was a tough call between Sunburst and Natural. If I'd have gotten the Natural I'd probably be sat here saying I wish I got the Sunburst.. lol. So I couldn't win either way.

Oh I see, thanks. Yes, I remember Misty now. I think Joe played a song called Misty, must be the same. I sometimes forget the names. Yeah, they're both nice. I believe they are discontinued now. Stopped making the ES-175 Premium which is a shame. They'll maybe bring it back though, maybe with a few little tweaks or whatever. From what I can see Epiphone have a habit of that. I think some day I'll get something in Natural too though. I also have an Ibanez AKJ-95 in Sunburst. I really like it. I like those Epiphone Broadways too but they've the Epiphone pickups as Standard. When I buy the Epiphones I like to get the ones with the Gibson pickups. Like this Premium model I got. I had a Les Paul by them also which had Burstbuckers. A 1959 model. It was like a tribute of the '59 Les Paul. I sold it but I regret it. There was only 1959 of them made. I wish I had another one. The current Les Paul "Tribute" (I think that's what they call it) is basically the same thing however, just not limited and different finishes. Thanks for the reply and posting the video of the playing.

Hi, Thank you for watching and your kind words. I only have played regular es-175 briefly at a shop. So I can't say much about their differences. Some I have noticed are , Premium looks so much better and it has more clear sound. If you are looking for darker sound regular one is the one. Those are just my impressions though.

thanks for taking the time to answer my question, I have tried the regular 175 also, did not care much for the neck. I hope I get the chance to try the neck of the Preminum 175.

No worries. If you like chunky thick neck, I think premium isn't one for you. It's thin for a Jazz box neck. In fact it's so thin that I some time feel like playing one of those thin neck Ibaneze guitar.

Im actually glad to hear so, I allready have guitar with a pretty chunky V neck so that would be kinda neat having a jazzbox with thinner profile for them crazy chords;)
