Abso-freaking-lutely. I recently re-read the book and also re-watched the 1995 series, and on so many occasions you can tell that he comes within a hair's breadth of yelling, 'Would you shut the fuck up!' And of course by the standards of the day that really is what he actually does... all that talk of 'fine eyes' is definitely his way of shutting her up.
