Do you think the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a futuristic car?

Me too. It has grown on me, even if the back is a bit weird.

A fair and encouraging review. My first thoughts, as I have owned this vehicle for 16 months - the almost-top-of-the-range Eclipse Cross 4 SAWC version : I agree the styling is more 'futuristic' than other competitor's offerings, though the split rear window is a subjective 'like it or loath it' part of the design language. I've grown used to it, but had reservations about it initially. I use the shift paddles more than I thought I would - when cruising in top gear for a burst of speed during a quick manoeuvre I shift down two steps for more spirited acceleration, and when descending steep gradients I drop down into a lower gear to help with engine braking - watch the rev counter, however! Use them thoughtfully and they do help. Safety and onboard tech could have been more thorough in the review -the top spec vehicle is equipped with many enhancing features including blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward and rear parking sensors, forward collision mitigation and misacceleration system, keyless entry, engine start/stop, autohold parking brake, ECO mode selection, dual climate control, heated front seats, leather seats, head-up display, auto sensing rain wipers, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, speed limiter, 360 degree monitoring, front and rear parking cameras, premium sound system, tinted rear windows, dual pane sunroof -front glass slides open as well as the blind, electric folding and heated wing mirrors, heated front windscreen, auto halogen headlamps with washers, start/stop override button, traction control, sonar cancellation etc.. The rear seats recline so your comfort issue could have been corrected, and they also slide forward to offer more cargo space if required. I may have missed a few other details but overall it is a very decently equipped vehicle, and as you mentioned, is solidly built. It's also very comfortable to drive - the turbo assisted CVT is very smooth indeed and offers good low down torque - it's not a sports vehicle, but moves fairly quickly from standing. There are a lot of Mitsubishi critics giving it negative reviews simply because of the rear light bar/split window (Pontiac Aztek) design, so it's bit like drinking Guinness - you have to try it before you trash it ! Final thought -if the 'ECO Mode' button is engaged it will dull the acceleration performance of the vehicle and limit the climate control function , so be aware of this if you test drive it. Just see how it responds under both conditions for a more balanced view.

Glad to hear you are loving your car. The split rear screen can lack some visibility in heavy rain as the rear wiper is so small. I see you have the auto which I think is a better choice over the manual, the manual clutch peddle requires you to be quite light footed and on top of that the default gear position is at a slight angle. Jumping in and out of cars frequently I always have to be extra careful as to whether I am or not in gear when entering or even leaving the vehicle. Thank you for the feedback on safety specs on the car. I find the heads up display really useful. It has a decent level of safety features and tech but it doesn't have sat nav. Does yours have sat nav? I couldn't find it on the options list.

Just got my Eclipse Cross Black Edition here in Canada and loving it :) I'm wonder how do you flash the led light on the front of the car around the 0.50 mark ? Can't find anything in the owner manual :( Also, very good review and continue the good work !

Glad you like your Eclipse and thank you for your comment. There is no special setting to make the light flash like it the video. It is a result of an optical illusion. Lights continuously flicker at a high speed that our eye can't see it. The camera films at 30 frames per second which means it takes 30 photographs per second. Occasionally it captures the moment the lights flicker which is why you see it on film. With your phones camera film your LED lights and you should be able to see it on there too. I've just bought new audio recording equipment as my old one broke so I am able to start filming again. Thank you for subscribing and I hope you can enjoy some of my other videos.
