I do hope you give it a try Doreen. Not only can you create a unique result but it's a great way to use up those old office supplies. Thanks for your enthusiasm--you are such an encouragement!

I use all sizes of lables, even full sheets. Also use business cards of all sizes for tags, even for abstract art. So much fun.

Absolutely LOVE this. I make my own faux "washi tape" using collage scraps, rubber stamps, bits of sparkle, etc., but I never thought of doing it this way! I use full-page labels that I gelli print on, to create 'beginning' backgrounds for my art journal; I just take them off the backing and cover the page with them. This is especially helpful if the art journal paper is less-than-substantial.... And after watching this video, I realized that I can also cut these full size painted sheets into strips to use as washi tape, package tape, and anything else I care to do! I love your videos and your energy, I always enjoy the time I spend with you!!!!

I'm so glad you found this video helpful Jamie as I was a little hesitant about sharing. Good to know I am not the only one to use this type of supply in my art. I appreciate you watching and your kind words--thanks!

Fabulous idea! The thrift stores are loaded with old packages of a partially used stickers and labels... VERY cost-effective, too. :)

@@pamhemmerling I've missed watching your little face... finally got moved... WHAT an undertaking that was!! Going to be a while before my little studio area will be set up, but your sticker idea is at the top of my list to whip up first.... I'm going to be creating 'collage kits' to sell and these will be a wonderful, colorful addition to the kits. Have a LOVELY day, Pam!! 😄😎

@@deborahneumann9162 Hi Deborah, glad to hear you are finally moved--that is always a big undertaking! And of course getting things put away and organized is a huge task in and of itself. That is a great idea to add the tape and stickers to your collage kits! Thanks for the update!

I like sooo much this kind of technic : I clean up my gel plate with transparent packaging tape which makes nice addings to collages. I also cleanup my brayer on label sheets instead of paper and then add some asemic scribbling, some ink stamping on top. You can also add doodles, splatters on top of them...

I have started saving the masking tape if I tape around the edges of a piece and just extend my painting out to cover it.

Do you wet and blot your brush before using it on a project? If yes how do you decide which one to do that on or dry brush?
@pamhemmerling
3 ай бұрын
Yes, I always (or almost always!) wet and blot my brush before sticking it into paint. Although I am very hard on my brushes I find this helps the paint not gum up at the point where the bristles attach to the metal part of the handle (ferrule). Anyway, when I'm on camera I generally have already done that so the brushes are ready to go.
