Mixed Sabzi Dal | Mixed Veg Dal Recipe | Quick Sabzi Dal
Ingredients:
- Toor Dal - 1 cup (200 gms)
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Green cardamom - 3 nos.
- Cinnamon- 2 small sticks
- Cloves- 4 nos.
- Bay leaf - 1 no.
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Beans, cut into 1” pieces- 12-14
- Carrot, cut into 1” pieces- 2 medium
- Green peas - 1/2 cup
- Tomato, chopped - 1 small
- Green chillies, slit - 2
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1 tsp or to taste
- Sugar - 1 tsp
Preparation:
- Soak the Toor Dal for 15-30 mins.
- Chop the tomato & shell the green peas.
- Cut the beans and carrots.
Process:
- Take a pressure cooker & heat a tablespoon of ghee.
- Add the whole garam masala & when it splutters, add the cumin seeds & bay leaf.
- Add the chopped tomatoes.
- Sauté the tomatoes for 2-3 mins till soft.
- Add the chopped vegetables, mix well and add salt, turmeric powder. Sauté for 4-5 mins.
- Drain the water from the Toor Dal & add the dal.
- Sauté for 2-3 mins.
- Add sugar & the green chillies.
- Mix well & add 2 cups of water.
- Give a stir & close the pressure cooker. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Allow the pressure to release completely before opening the pressure cooker.
- You can add little water if required but not much since the consistency of the dal should be thick.
- Serve with roti or rice
