OTT by Xfer is a multiband compressor that can be extremely nice for adding some aggression/brightness to spiccato strings. Very low settings around 5-10%wet can make a huge difference in a good way if you want that rhythmic/percussive bow attack

Great tips! 250hz and 750hz are two excellent spots to zone in one. Doing a little boost in cellos and cut in violins can help to balance them nicely. I sometimes like doing a little dip around 3.2k on violins if they're really scratchy.

I just wonder why not use a fabfilter eq ? instead of this one because it has no visual interface like I wouldnt be able to eq properly xD hope that makes sense
