Went to buy a cobra speedzone this afternoon, I juist love the look, but decided to compare it against some other drivers. The Mizuno ST 200 felt so much better, and I hit it further and with much more confidence so I bought it.

Mark I’ve enjoyed watching your videos for almost 6 years now. Per your comment request, I have and presently use a Mizuno driver. The JPX 850 (which you also gamed for some time) still constitutes the longest driver I’ve ever hit. I presently use the GT180 which proved to be a bit more consistent dispersion wise. Two colleagues at work “converted” to the GT180 noting the length and consistency in my driving. They were former user of the two “big driver” 2020 brand renderings on tour and experienced significant improvement in their driving. Longtime user, as I, of Mizuno irons, it was just a matter of getting out of one’s mindset to experience better driving. Keep up the informative videos!

Great review as always, Mark. One correction, though: the weights can be taken out of their channels and both can be put in the same channel for extreme draw or fade bias.

6/5/20, just had a club fitting, just for a driver, tested callaway, taylormade, ping, and mizuno...got the best results with the mizuno st 200g, my new club will arrive shortly. my worst hits with it, performed better than my best hits with my old one at the fitters. they use Foresight launch monitors. first time i've ever had a club fitting, been playing for 10 years. got fit at Golftec, $60 for the fitting, $400 for the driver which is the going price. the guy was quite patient with me, we stayed at it for 2 hours, trying this and that as we made our way to the best fit for my swing. i've hesitated to get fit, wasn't convinced i'd get my money's worth, read a lot of stories about guys getting fit and spending a lot of money and not benefitting from it. i'd give them a 4/5 rating and i encourage everyone to get fit for a club(s). i'm thinking of trying a different fitter for a 3wood, e.g., just to see how they do it. maybe find a reputable firm using Trackman instead of Foresight.

I played a Mizuno driver so many years ago I don’t even remember what model it was. I think it was their first metal wood, and although the head was absolutely tiny compared to today’s standards, I hit it very well. I’m getting ready to buy a new driver to replace my GBB Epic and the ST200 will definitely be considered. I’ve been waiting on this video from you Mark, so thanks.

Last year I tried all of the new driver options EXTENSIVELY. I literally spent hours comparing all the big names against one another and the ST190 won out. Sound, feel, & performance were perfect for me and I had my best driving year of my 30 year golfing career. Looking forward to swinging this new ST200, though I doubt it can kick the ST190 out of the bag. Good stuff guys!

Hi Mark - thanks for the fair review. In answer to a couple of bits - yes the forged BETA Ti face is completely new. Previous drivers had a 6-4 Ti face. Result - should be a better retention of ball speed from off centre hits. The ST190 gave a us a little momentum last year with Keith Mitchell picking up a win on the PGA Tour - and Rhein Gibson on the Korn Ferry. Gave us the belief we can push on now with the ST200. This year so far Keith Mitchell, Bo Hoag, Adam Schenk, Rhein Gibson, Chris Kirk (ST200X), Luke Donald (ST200G), Adrien Saddier, Scott Gregory, Tom Gandy and David Dixon (ST200G) have all put the ST200 in play. Blue will be back one day - but feedback was that it was holding us back from making that progress at tour level. We know the public expect to see our own players as a minimum gaming the Mizuno driver. So will see where we are after 2 season of genuine progress, with all the barriers removed.

It's really quite simple why these mizuno drivers don't end up in many peoples bags, and it astonishes me mizuno hasn't figured it out. Use me for example, always had ping and Titleist drivers, and loved them. Have confidence in both brands in terms of performance, quality, customer service, etc. Sure this mizuno diver is intriguing and I would consider trying it out whenever I need a new driver, but at $500 why would I? I can stick with the brands I know and love for that money. Now, had this been $350 - $400, I have a reason to try something new and if I have a good experience they've won me over. But until then, ill stick with what I know.

I recently had a fitting and tried the mizuno 190g or whatever it is and it gave me as good or the same numbers as the ts3 I ended up going with. The only difference was dispersion was better with the ts3, and the shaft I was fitted into was a stock option for the ts3 and an after market option for the mizuno. The better looks(imo) of the mizuno wasn't worth the extra cost associated with having the extra shaft change and loss of dispersion. Realistically the dispersion was my swing faults, but there was still some confidence with the ts3. I'd highly recommend trying mizuno, and will definitely continue playing the mp15 irons i have for a long while.
