Funny Jordan/Payton exchange from Payton's early years: Payton is smack-talking to Jordan, and goes "you're not so special MJ, I got my ferraris an porsches too." Jordan responds, "yeah, but you have to pay for yours." OWNED. lol

I got to say that the Rookie Kempt and young Pippen match was highly intriguing....that was a nasty challenge by Kempt on the open drive to the hoop denial on Pippen and then Kempt got him later on the game again!! Kempt was a man child at that time and hanging with the best in the game! and Jordan definitely showed that he was the best in the game with greedy and stingy like defense, 8 steals??!! 3 break away dunks and 2 of them were big time poster plays......Jordan was REDICULOUS!!!

Jordan actually has 9 steals this game (the graphic around the 7:05 mark says 8 and then he gets another one right after that for 9 steals) yet his "official" game log says only 7 steals. Not the first time I've seen MJ get shortchanged in box scores.

Wow, thanks for the rare game. Seeing this makes me question the stat-keeping for older games, since the official box score fo this game says that Jordan had 7 steals, when this broadcast said he had 8, and then he got a 9th steal right after they showed that. Even if they didn't count the 9th pick as a steal (it was tough to see if MJ touched it), he should have at least had 8.

I agree on Horace Grant. Nothing against Rodman, but Grant's speed enabled Bulls to trap more ways from more angles. "Releasing the Dobermans, Asst Coach Johnny Bach called it. Disappointing when Bulls let Grant walk after 93-94, but Grant went to Orlando & got revenge. '95 ECSF tied at one game each, Shaq moved away from the basket, Luc Longly had to follow, Grant had room to operate inside & Magic won 3 out of last 4.

Grant was big, but rodman came up with so many huge offensive rebounds in big situations. There is a scoring difference but they didn't really need scoring from that position in the second 3peat. Plus he was such a much better defender that grant. He gave them so more defensive flexibility. It allowed scottie to roam more because remember scottie would even gaurd good 4's if he had to on the first 3peat team. Scottie gaurded barkley, rodman would have done that himself if he's on the team.

Love the block on Pippens dunk, Shawn loved to block dunks. 96 finals were won by Bulls guard height and long arms. Harper, Jordan and Pippen were too big foe Gary and the Hawk I have to admit. Hawk had a terrible series. Kemp/Rodman battle was great to watch. Kemp was shooting 15' J's since 92, not the latter part of his career, by then he was a foot inside the arc. Not a good low post player, who are you kidding, check the last 2 plays of Game 5 v Utah WCF, Kemp in the low post scores again.

The Bulls replaced Grant's scoring option with the addition of Kukoc. A lot of times they didn't start Rodman when the other team didn't have a strong 4/5 and they started Kukoc instead. And the Bulls were more than just slightly better than the Sonics in 96.

correct we had Grant and IMO we were bullied around. Granted the refs used to let the Knicks get away with fuckin murder. Without an enforcer so to speak like DR, the Knicks used to take cheap shots at MJ, PIP, etc. Remember the POS Greg Anthony. Once DR came into the mix we had a brawler as well whom the refs also get away with a good amount. Plus he had skills for more complimenting to the team than HO. We didn't need a scorer especially with the 2nd 3pt team's bench. We needed boards n balls!

Havingt watch both Bulls runs I would take Rodman over Grant Reason is Dennis could ignite the team Just look at how he came up in that 96 Finals series against Sonics Jordan had a sub par series but Rodman realy sealed it. Grant was a very good player but Rodman was a better passer, rebounder, ball denial, drawing fouls, more energy, better straight up D on much bigger guys. HO better J, offense, maybe more BLKS. Both were the #3 guy on each team. Nice to have had DR against the brawler Knicks

Tidbit: When Dennis first got to CHI's locker room, Phil said, "Dennis, go over and apologize to Scottie." Haha. Scott was still shook at the shove. Phil: "Do you want to be a Bull?" Dennis: "I don't give a damn about bein a Chicago Bull eitha way." Phil: "...Welcome to the Bulls." Tru stories from Dennis' HOF speech.

Fair enough. Instead, Kemp delivered a very reliable 15-18 footer. And if opposing PFs played up too closely on his jumper, he'd go right around them and then dunk over the entire team and your mutha (with his balls dangling in her mouth). "Wasn't like Olajuwon or Duncan..." Who the F was?!
