I’m glad that you showed one side window installation; it was handy to see the process from the inside, as well as the outside, as the rear window footage had already demonstrated. It was well worth filming the wiring loom repairs, too. Great work!

Really pleased the videos help. That’s great to hear 👍 Just always remember the basic principle of electrics which is every item needs a positive and a negative connection. As long as each item gets both, then everything should theoretically work 🤞

It looks like they do the plugs as well as full looms. Love the mini, I have always liked the flat front of the 1275 gt. I had one 30 years ago with metro turbo engine and gearbox and front brakes. But my 1st love is mk1 escorts

@@vincentmarston1168 Im same Vincent. I much prefer the clubman front too. Ive always thought the clubman front was very similar to the mk2 escort front and then i found out that the clubman front was designed by an ex Ford Designer 😎. Thanks for the detail regarding plugs. I will certainly give them a try 👍

My mk1 heater connections are black and brown- so earth and live . The earth is switch , 2 way . There is an earth that goes to a kinda resistor bar that is mounted on the steering column brace . This controls the voltage to the fan down for the 2 speed . Maybe yours being later is the different colour wires but same principal - green and yellow Wire to that resistor bar thingymajig;)

Deffinitely Lee. Its ridiculous how little fuses there are. Real small CSA cables that aren’t fused down. Recipe for disaster isn’t it.

Sorry if you have mentioned but where did you get your window rubbers from?
@performanceclassics1986

gearbox90 They are both from Ebay. The rear screen rubber was from a seller called retro car seals and the side window rubbers were from a seller called motorsport -tools uk. Ebay can be a bit hit and miss for quality, but both seals Ive bought seam really good quality. Hope that helps.

Hi Craig, great job. I noticed to 2 holes on the rear quarter frames for opening windows. Which my car currently has and I want to remove as they are problematic. Did you you seal these 2 openings? Are they standard on all bodies? Does anybody else know if fixed windows will fit? Thanks Russ
@performanceclassics1986
3 жыл бұрын
Russ Davies Yeah all openings are the same Russ and they all have the holes cut for fitting opening windows. Ive been looking everywhere for opening rear side windows as i wanted them myself. What ways have you found them problematic if you don’t mind me asking Russ?? The sealed non opening windows should fit your car no problem at all. You just need the sealed glass pains and rubbers. The sealed type rubbers cover the holes in the B post frames also.

@@performanceclassics1986 hi Craig, Thanks for the quick response. My first car was a mk1 with opening windows. They always were loose and was always worried that the windows would fall out. These ones were no different. Maybe I should just try them out. I live in Canada and I imported the car from Germany, so it would probably be the cheaper option too. Glass being hard to get hold of. Thanks for doing this channel, lots of priceless info for me as I cant really look at someone else’s car, there aint none. Cheers Russ

Russ Davies No problem Russ. If you ever get hold of sealed side windows, i would be interested in buying the opening type from yourself as id like to try them out. Im sort of put off the idea now uve said they are a loose fit though. 👍

Hello Gary i just bought mine through ebay and the Seller was called Motorsport-Tools uk. They were around £45 for the pair. Its horrible when they don’t form properly in the corners and I’m not sure why that happens other than the seals being the wrong shape possibly. Hope you get sorted Gary.
