The rule's pretty straightforward, though. You can't argue balls and strikes, period, even if the umpire is wrong. Until we transition to an automated way of judging balls and strikes, that's going to be the way it is, because otherwise every batter is going to want to give their opinion and it'll slow the game down even more to no good end.
@fezzik7619
3 жыл бұрын
I’m aware of that. That’s why I said you can’t dare show up the ump. That’s why he was ejected. I was just pointing out that Ichiro never lost his cool and in this one instance that he was thrown out he was actually correct. I’m really a baseball traditionalist and I hope balls and strikes are never called electronically. For 150 years there’s been the element of human error that gives the game its authenticity. I’d rather that not be lost behind the plate at least. I was ok with checking on home runs because angles and vantage points are tricky especially in Boston where my hometown Red Sox play. The Monster is 37 feet high and judging whether it hits near the top or goes over and hits the lip to bounce back in is hard to do from ground level.
