Nicely done PSA against shaking babies. Babies are uniquely frustrating at times. Our third (and final) was a screamer. Like, maybe he's in pain or maybe he just dropped his pacifier; either way, he'd scream like he was on fire. When he was in a bad mood, I used a pair of those protective earmuff things like you see construction workers or airport baggage handlers wear. I could still hear him and take care of him, but he wasn't hurting me anymore. Saved my sanity.

I just wanted to commiserate the struggle, cuz it sucks. And also reiterate it's okay to step away! As long as baby is placed in a safe spot, they'll be just fine. As far as shaken baby syndrome, I am so glad you mentioned walking away. Hannah, I know the frustrations of unsolicited advice during pregnancy. But if I can leave you and any other new mom out there with one piece of advice, it’s this… Absolutely walk away. Put your baby down and walk away. You are 1,000,000 % correct when you say that. Thankfully hubby and I never experienced shaken baby syndrome, however, my first daughter was quite colicky, for a good two weeks( I know that’s relatively short) I tried everything in my power and pulled out all the stops to calm her and nothing worked. My husband came home and saw how stressed I was. I was holding her, rocking her, trying to soothe her and we were both crying hard. He came and took her from my arms and put her in her crib and shut the door. And forced me to the other end of the house. I could still hear her crying and it was heart wrenching. My newborn baby needed me. She eventually fell asleep. Almost 25 years later and I thank God too this day that he did that. I don’t even want to think what may have happened. It turned out, I was over feeding her. As a brand new mom, everytime she cried I would feed her. Once I stopped doing that, and put her in a feeding schedule, her colic went away. Now she is about to graduate college and is engaged to be married. She was also Valedictorian of her High School graduating class

Okay, I just watched the section about the Bodi rep's reel and it's making me a lot more angry and emotional than most of these posts. "Give back your kids the mom they deserve" is so shame-filled and disgusting to me. After my son was born last April, my pre-existing health conditions spiraled COMPLETELY out of control. I went from being physically capable of working 60 hours a week in a warehouse and still play outside with my daughter, take her out to fun places, etc to being medically disabled and struggling to even take care of my and my children's most basic needs. Almost 1 full year since delivery, it has pretty much been confirmed that I will NEVER be able to work again. I will never be able to do the vast majority of things with my son that I did with my daughter, and I can no longer do those things with her either. It is not physically possible for me to "be the mom they deserve" because my last pregnancy completely wrecked my body and there is no way to fix it. I would give anything to "give back my kids the mom they deserve", as she says, but the best I can do is give them a mom who is ALIVE and does everything in her power to take care of them and give them a happy life. And that's enough! That's all any of us should be expected to do. It is not physically possible for every single person to live up to the expectations the Bodi rep is trying to push on mothers, no matter how much they may want to, and being shamed or guilted for that is not okay. It's great that she is able to do her Bodi routines 9 days post partum (hopefully after being given doctor's approval, as you mentioned), but saying that everyone should be doing the same is just wrong on so many levels.

I typically wouldn't defend an MLM rep, but I don't think someone with an actual medical condition, like yourself, is the target audience. Unfortunately a lot of women use pregnancy as an excuse to not exercise and eat terribly. I recently had a baby and so many people would tell me to not exercise and eat whatever I was "craving". Neither extreme is good. Everyone should just strive to do their best and be in the healthiest position that they can.

He was right to say I wasn’t going to harm myself by crying (other than being colicky and “difficult”, I was healthy) and that I was in more danger from her than from crying. as an accountant, i cringe at the amount of work YL has caused due to misreported earnings. they will need to send corrected 1099 forms to the irs and the reps. the rep might have to contact the irs as well. think about how much work that takes to correct hundreds of forms. imagine the investigation it would take to go through and verify thousands of reps’ individual earnings over the span of several years. while employers are not responsible for payroll taxes for 1099 employees, the IRS does not like when people play with their money. i imagine if YL was caught intentionally misreporting earnings there would be consequences: backpaying owed taxes (sometimes with interest), penalties, fines, lawsuits and potential jail time. and i can also confirm that not paying out commissions earned as per company policy is completely illegal.

On top of everything you said about post partum recovery, you literally have a wound the size of a dinner plate from the placenta that needs to heal. That on top of pelvic floor, abdominal diastasis recti, your actual vag/vulva, and your mental state need time to heal! Like….let your mind and body heal. It’s like we all saw Heidi Klum return to modeling 6 weeks after birth, and we couldn’t forget it. We were under the impression that’s what we had to do. I will add I’m a hopeful mother one day, not currently. I did work at an OB/GYN and was the support person for my best friend, so I do have some knowledge and first hand witnessing to the birth process, and it further reiterated to me how much new moms deserve rest, peace, and recovery. Not external pressures to get back to it (it being work outs, pre baby weight, etc)

When I was in college, I worked at a Cracker Barrel. Amway used to come every Monday night and leave at close. We would practically have to kick them out. When my parents, and then me later, were in Amway, we would go to restaurants after meetings they would hold at hotels. Probably a 24 hour IHOP because it's still open. The meetings are largely inspirational (to get you "fired up" about the business) and participants were so wired afterwards that the after meetings at the restaurants would go on for a while. Seriously, Amway was a trip!

Hey Hannah! I wanted to say congrats on your baby and offer some advice about a test to ask for 24 hours after the birth called a Pulse Oximetry Test. It tests for heart defects, I was born with one called Tetralogy of Fallot, and had I had that test my mom and drs would have known and I could have gotten life saving treatment right away. I wont go on about the details of all that lol, I just always try to let anyone I can know about the test because its painless and quick and makes all the difference in the world ♡ Keep up the good work, I love your videos and love to lay in bed and just listen to them when I'm having bad health days 😊

Both my kids were born with minor heart defects. I am forever thankful to our pediatrician that has all babies do a heart ultrasound at 6/7 months old. That how we found out about my daughter's inter auricular communication (not very significant but still with checking every year). Because she was being checked regularly, her cardiologist decided to do an ultrasound and a EKG to my son when he was 6 months old. We are very fortunate to have learned that he has a rare and random heart condition. For now he has no symptoms and no issues but, because of those very simple exams, we are prepared to act very quickly if he ever has an issue. Simple tests can save lives, people!

Nurse here ☺️ Don’t do the “test” at the hospital unless your baby shows signs of distress - you’ll be charged THOUSANDS for something that’s as simple as putting a sticky probe around your infants large toe for a few minutes (if they even leave it on that long). If your pediatrician is a good one, they’ll generally have you come into the office for a 72-96hr check up to make sure everything is going okay with baby as far as feeding and jaundice are concerned. I know mine always wanted to make sure baby was gaining by the time a new mamas milk supply came in and that baby was getting a good, solid latch. Dr also wanted to double check that we were adjusting well at home ❤ At this check, thr nurse would have done a pulse ox (it’s one of the five vital signs and you get it everytime you go to the dr), so any abnormal reading would warrant a formal investigation, regardless of being a newborn or not. Quick note tho, tetralogy of fallout is almost always caught on ultrasound while still in utero. Due to the number of heart defects that go into the physiology of TOF, it’s hard to miss one. If it goes undetected and the infant survives birth, that baby should present fairly quickly. I’m shocked OP went longer than the hospital stay bc I have yet to come across one that didn’t present within hours of birth. Most TOF babies are extremely critical once born with most going straight into open heart surgery almost immediately after delivery. Of which, to keep these babies going into distress, are typically delivered via caesarean. Often we have mothers in recovery while their newborn is in surgery. ❤️ Best of luck, Hannah!

@Heather Z I forgot that in the US you have to always consider the cost. I have to add that my kids did their exams (EKG, heart ultrasound and Holter) free of charge in a public and very good children's hospital. So I guess you have to check with your doctor first if the benefits are bigger than the cost.

Re tax - I worked for a tax professional company that did this. It wasn't an MLM but was a horrible, toxic place (multiple people got diagnosed with PTSD from it). People can report to IRS and most states. Some states are very likely to pursue, others and IRS less so, or at least takes longer. For those not interested, I suggest talking with a CPA or tax attorney who handles income tax. I've has these conversations, including without charge, because sometimes people need help but really don't need to hire me. I'd suggest CPA first, though, as they have more leeway in advising often. Thanks for the PSA on shaken baby syndrome and PPD/PP life. There's so much more that taking a moment can protect from as well.

1. Contact the IRS and report any discrepancy on a 1099. They will ask the company to provide proof payment was issued to and received by the rep. That could also lead to an audit for YL if enough people report it. 👀 2. Anyone who claimed income they didn't receive can file amended taxes. Another way to raise a flag against YL. 3. All MLMs seem to do this to people who leave. Several Monat reps have posted about not being paid out their final commissions. 4. The fact that so many didn't say anything prior to that rep's post shows how brainwashed they are into never saying anything against the MLM. Even after they leave.

The woman in clip 3 makes me wonder if part of the reason that MLMs are so popular is due to the scarcity and uncertainty that young parents face in the United States because of our poor healthcare infrastructure, high costs of healthcare, and poor social safety nets like little to no mandated parental leave from work and outrageous childcare costs.

That’s tax fraud. Reporting withheld income on a 1099 is illegal and they should sue them. The woman just having her accountant reduce the income instead of demanding a corrected 1099 could result in her being audited by the IRS and having to pay the taxes on top of fees and interest depending on what the IRS concludes.

My wife was in Amway while she was my gf because I didn't want to tell her she's in a pyramid scheme and as her husband I made her leave. She wouldn't have listened to be back then anyway. These people believe that if you present as a successful person, people will want to join you. Ex wearing business/ business causal attire everywhere. At a conference i went with her just to be a supportive boyfriend, they would sit there for hours(like they would pack their own amway snacks and drinks because nothing was provided) listening to the typical mlm things about how they started even though only the people at the top ever spoke and no one was allowed to talk to these people at all or for to long unless you were also at the top rank. Then after the conference their uplines would tell them they're having a meeting because some people bring their potential recruits also. Basically all day and night they talked amyway. My wife went on team hikes in NC. These people are so brainwashed that if their upline told them to go to Walmart tonight and talk to random people and don't leave until you get 5 numbers because X did it they would.

When i say i made her it wasn't in an abusive way. I told her you need to pay off your debt then you can join afterwards if thats what you want and when she sat and thought about it she didnt want to go back. she spent over a 2 years and never once made a profit. I honestly think she only did it to make friends and just hoped she would somehow build a team. I mean her IG was private and she hates talking to strangers. She was spending ~$450/month on products and VIP access to motivation books and stories from the tippy top of the pyramid.
