Indy is going to get a team soon. Their USL franchise has done well. They are already building a nice, new soccer specific stadium. With the success of cities like Nashville, Cincy, and St. Louis the Midwest looks like a good bet to get more teams.

Having grown up in San Diego, very excited to hopefully catch a game sometime when I'm back home visiting. As for other exansion teams - I live within walking distance of where the Tampa Bay Rowdies play, so I'd love to see them move up to MLS. I doubt it will happen, though, since we already have Orlando City just over an hour away. Plus, they'd have to fully renovate Al Lang Stadium, which seems like a stretch on top of the franchise fees.

Louisville City FC. Big built-in rivalies with Cincinnati and St Louis. Already has a stadium, one of the highest fan attendance in the lower leagues. Has had success in open cup vs MLS. Hosted the first ever nationally broadcast USL game on CBS. Would be the only Major League team in the state of Kentucky.

If I could pick the 31st and 32nd expansion teams, I would choose Oakland on the west and Pittsburgh on the East. Oakland is in the process of losing their baseball team the Oakland A's to Las Vegas in a really tragic tale. They lost their basketball team when the Golden State Warriors moved next door to San Francisco in 2019. It's a big market with great fans that got mismanaged to death. Technically the San Jose Quake are in the same region but they are far enough away to not be adopted by most people in Oakland. Pittsburgh is a great sports town with big teams in the NFL, NHL, and MLB. They are known for great fanbases, and the city falls inbetween the two Ohio teams and the east coast teams. That would fit a regional void nicely.

@@discoveringmls time will tell. So far Cincy didn't change colors, but did rebrand. And, in my opinion, the current crest is alright. The old one was more fun, but their new one is inoffensive. Then San Diego is completely different than the loyal were, and Saint Louis is also completely different. I will admit that SLC is a little better than what SLFC was, but San Diego is a big step down.

Its inevitable that it'll reach 32 teams if so then it will be Indy and Las Vegas. Its likely it'll cap at 36. If so next teams will be Phoenix, Detroit, and Tampa Bay. The likely 36th team would be Sacramento but California already has 4 teams. San Antonio too, but Austin is only an hour drive so the area would be saturated. The cities that would make sense but money is at issue. Are Pittsburgh where there is a big sports tradition and would have a great rivalry with Philly Union (an excellent team). Where I would love a 36th franchise to go just because it's an amazing city, unique in culture is New Orleans.

@@discoveringmlsDefinitely, though we often get overlooked due to being right next to the States lol. The success of the CMNT and the World Cup coming (at least partially) to Canada could be the big catalyst that we need. Already in Vancouver we've broken our home-opener and regular season attendance due to Messi coming this season, and with the price being 350$ for the Messi game or 400$ for the whole season, most may as well take the better deal. The coming of the big stars really is powerful.

We've even had former Detroit Red Wings and Lions players there at the games. When DCFC won NISA back to back, the Tigers honored them at their baseball game. Are there other Michigan teams?
