interesting... when it's palhares doing that same foot lock shown in the first fight, his image and career are ruined by everyone with a stake in the UFC, Dana White and Joe Rogan included. it was obvious that Palhares was a threat to the status quo cos fighters didnt know by then how to properly counter that move, (and yes, it's dangerous and very difficult to gauge how much pressure to apply as one bit further can bust your opponent's ligaments) but UFC didnt want to outlaw that movement at the same time. It was easier for them to scape goat Palhares into oblivion and retain their status that in MMA is a macho sport where (almost) anything goes, while at the same time not threatening the physical integrity of their most precious assests, the fighters. When business becomes too large, politics and hypocrisy starts running rampant, whatever is needed to keep the show going and money flowing. The truth and ethics always comes last.

What are you talking about? Palahres blatantly refused to let go of numerous heel hooks and other submissions. No scapegoating. Literally the best example of not stopping when the ref says to for submissions.

@@NameZDustiN27 It's not so obvious when to let go right on the spot when you're so focused on the fight, it's not like a rear neck choke where it's a done deal. In joint locks you must keep applying pressure progressively so your opponent doest escape and taps, so it's a fine edge between winning and hurting your opponent. Also some judges dont make that clear when to stop. We see inumerous examples of fighters "not letting go" immediately with rear neck chokes but since the consequence is only your opponent passing out and since everyone likes seeing that, there's no major repercussion, a warning at most. Also no one protests about that extra punch given to a fainted fighter clearly after the judge has already stopped the fight. On the contrary, people seem to expect and relish that. So, yeah, it's pure hypocrisy. People wanna see damage, but no "damage" at the same time. After u foot lock someone you can easily snap it if you really want, he could've done that multiple times if he was really a bad person as people are trying to portrait him to be.. He chose not to, but as I said earlier, it's a fine line where u can either apply more pressure than needed trying to win the fight but hurt your opponent in the process, or not applying enough pressure and lose your position. Yes, there was scapegoating for sure and you like many others have been duped by Joe Rogan et all into thinking Palhares is a bad person, but you're free to believe anything you want and so am I.

@@virusmyth4930 he deserved the ban. he was intentionally holding it or had mental issues preventing him from competing in the proper manner. either way people cant compete that way and they need to go.
