If I was a film maker I would be honored to tell the story of the great MmaNthatisi.

Great storytelling 🙌🏽The use of so photograph - popular with so many posts & videos- is confusing though. Definitely a beautiful (Tlokwa?) woman from around 1900 but it is not verified to be the legendary queen Mmanthatisi who passed when the earliest photos of South Africa were around 1843. Many people still confusi g us Batlokwa as Basotho. We may be related but total different. Hontang Dinkwe!!! (That's how we greet) literally means BE PROUD

This is enlightening, thank you so much. Have Batlokoa ever dressed similar to Basotho, before the blankets? Because there are oral sources claiming that's where the name came from during Mmathulare's era.

Before the blankets we were all wearing animal skin cloaks. One more thing the first blanket ever made was made by Batlokwa by animal skin, it was a patchy patchy kinda blanket and it was called LETATA

@@MamotsamaiMotema-om2mz I appreciate the note on Letata, but my reference was to the loincloth worn by Mmathulare's descendants who formed the first nations to be called Basotho. It's style inspired the name. I'm not in disagreement that Batlokoa have since differed from Basotho but providing context as to why you may still be included in that grouping. Camagu!
