DATAPACK / RESOURCEPACK CHANGELOG (because im still updating this stuff) - The files downloadable from the description should always reflect the latest version listed here, unless otherwise specified. 2-17-2023 - Added a major optimization and fixed a potential issue involved with spawning the health bar entities 3-21-2023 - Updated the resource pack due to an orientation bug being fixed in 1.19.4, and set the pack format to the 1.19.4 version - Previously, several mobs would have the healthbars appear inside them (or far too high up) due to them interacting with passengers differently - this has now been fixed - Ghasts and Giants now have their own special massive healthbars! - Rideable mobs can no longer have healthbars applied to them, due to the healthbars interfering with the player's ability to mount them (without commands). Hopefully this will only be a temporary change, as I'm looking for a workaround. 6-17-2023 - Uploaded 1.20 versions of the datapacks to the drive folder. Because of an annoying discrepancy between predicates in 1.19.4 vs 1.20, the old datapacks no longer work in the newer versions, and the new ones don't work in the old versions. (like for real why did they have to force "alternative" to change to "any_of" literally all it does is break things about existing datapacks why would you do that)

i'm going to look into special characters you're using for the resource-less. I might be able to get the same solid effect using special chars instead of lowercase L or pipe or whatevs.

Here's the thing: whatever it is needs to be exactly the same size as the spacebar character " ". I got lucky enough to figure out that the space is the same size as *two* of those vertical lines ||. So each HP increment is actually two lines. If it doesn't match the spacebar, the text field will awkwardly change size as the mob takes damage

@@conure512 there's a workaround for that too! the same unicode blocks offer varying spaces. I'll send you some examples. It has been done, it's really just a question of if Minecraft supports them (it should)

Hi! This datapack is amazing but does this work for 1.19?
@conure512

It should actually work for 1.19.4 once that comes out, but no it doesn't work in any of the current non-snapshot versions. Thanks, I appreciate it!

I tried to use this, and it put an emerald above my boss...?

That's because you've gotta either use the resource pack like I said, or switch to the text version.

Thank you for pointing that out... It's an issue with how 1.20 redefined a predicate criterion, it literally just changed the name of a condition and made the old one not work anymore so now we all have to go back and update all our old packs. If you look in the folder again, there should be 1.20 versions available now. (And it's super annoying that I can't delete the old ones because the NEW ones also don't work in 1.19.4)

Unfortunately like I said in the video this doesn't work for players (at least not yet). An easy, non-datapack-related workaround is the following: /scoreboard objectives add HP health /scoreboard objectives setdisplay belowName HP

Download the zip file from the description and put it in your world's datapacks folder. If you're new to using datapacks there are plenty of resources online to help you.

Nope, it's fine with just Vanilla minecraft (and the provided texture pack, unless you use the text version).
