+BadaBingg Do you even listen to today's rap? I mean beyond the retarded shit that's played on the radio and in clubs? Do you even follow modern hip-hop? There's plenty of great lyrical artists out there that are doing it like no one has ever done it before such as Logic and Joey Badass for example. Put in actual effort to find the gems. You act as if back in the day this was being played on the radio to the masses? Not really, back then MC Hammer was on the radio. MC fucking Hammer lol

Tdog323 Im not talking about the radio. N no i don't listen to todays rap. i don't even bother. . Its ridiculous. the golden age of hip hop is OVER. I'm sure there are a few gems out there though, but on the whole, the music has been dumb downed, and the content is terrible. theres no substance and realization. doesn't make you think, doesn't make you feel.

Hip hop itself was built on biting. It was built on using old styles, old sounds and rapping over old music because we didn't have instruments so we used the old heads. Every style in hip hop can be traced back to what's considered biting. It's called evolving and it's the history of hip hop of biting from the old heads. Things don't stay the same bruh, do your history.

Ralphy Figueroa Do my history? Hip hop was not built on biting. If you sounded like someone else, you were considered corny. If you bit the same line that someone else said, you were a cockroach. If you call grunting over an 808 kick and acting like a chimpanzee evolution, perhaps you are living on the other side of the mirror. Just saying bro.

This first played on Stretch and Bobbito early in 96. Then it just disappeared for a little while so it stayed really underground until DJ's eventually got to it by 97-98. I think Rock n Soul had it on scratch.
