@@sariahr8186 if you got out in 2016, did y'all ever hear about the Pen being locked down in the summer of 2015? It was massive race riot Mexicans vs. Whites. That started because of a fight over a shower between a white dude and a Mexican dude in the unit above me (Unit BB) but the riot was actually the worst in my unit (BA). After the deuce alarm went off in the unit above mine, as they were escorting all the participants of the fight to the SHU, they have to walk right past our unit, one of the Mexican guys said "this whiteboy stole off on me" and that was all it took. That was a fucking INSANE riot. I'm a wood, I saw my fellow California wood from San Diego getting stabbed in the neck by some dude we used to be cool with. I was able to save him, which is something I'm proud of. It was 15 minutes of pure violence.

First time I saw a SLAB was in 83. Me and my homeboy was riding our bikes and a car with HELLA bass was creeping down the block and what made me notice it even more was the spokes and spinners sat out just a little bit. It was a sky blue 78 Regal and that car stuck with me forever. Dude let me and my homie look in it and I'll never forget, the backseat was missing and he had like 10 6x9's in its place. I told my homeboy,"Man that's how ima have my car." Now I have three 78 Regal SLABS. True story. On everything.

I'm from the bay. I fucking LOVE Houston Slabs! That candy red drop top "eldog" biarittz with the 90'd rocker panels and bumpers are so hard. Most people would look at that caddy and think it came that way stock. NOPE. That's a way of flexing on people who really know their cars.

@@charliemack9118 I'm from the bay. I love too short... but you're 10000% right. His (Too Short's) Biarritz he had in the 80s wasn't shit next to the Houston Eldorados.... fully Euro Headlights... pretty much everything off of a 90-92 Brougham. So dope. Lowriders do it too. It's such a subtle way of stunting. If you don't know your cars you don't know. Houston has a better car culture than the bay and I have a hard time saying that because I'm from the bay. We're all about having a 68 cougar on 20" zenith wires on gold spokes and vouge tires, gold plated factory luggage rack on the trunk you gotta have a super hot engine, posi rear-end is mando cause we swing donuts at every 4 way intersection and you gotta have a trunk full of beat. You have to be a beast to burn hella rubber on vogues. The one thing the bay has that I think slabs need is the bay area old schools have a "Zapco" equalizer... It's like what finding an original set of 84's before TWW remade them. A Zapco is a big equalizer board and they're usually mounted under the dash or some dudes ride with the zapco on their lap. Mac Dre often would say "Zap on my lap" that's what he meant. Zapco equalizers are dope and they're worth like 3 grand these days they were made in the late 80s and early 90s but sound amazing.
@evanpimental

@@ldavidson5862 I love short. He didn't even have an E&G grill or Continental kit. I had an 83 hard top when I was young in the Bay that was basically a slab minus the elbows (I know some say that doesn't make it a true slab) I built this Eldog before TWW existed. I had a pop trunk (510's Finest (my area code) I had the linear actuators in the Continental kit. I had the e&g grill I had the 1941 Cadillac hood ornament on it which most slabs use i had hella beat in it and a flip out monitor way before double dins existed. I was "holdin" as they'd say pillow tops I miss it. The motor was just so slow. Those 4.1s kinda sucked.

I'm 50 years old now I live in Dallas Texas, Oak Cliff by the way ,and when I was younger I had a 83 Coupe Deville and put that European front on it, was the first one in Dallas to do it, I did that in 92 but I still had that sorry 4100 engine though👍🤝

Shout out to Corey. RIP to Toast. I’m from South Park off Longmeadow by the original Timmy’s. In the late 80s and during the 90s coke was flooding the streets of Houston and the rest of Texas. Most of our music labels and business was started off street money. My cousin owned Cashaw Motors on Old Spanish Trail next to Cabelleros. Corey , Toast, Quanell , Smitty and all them boys took their slabs to Cabelleros to get butter seats, white guts, candy paint red apple over silver and over gold. The specialized in marble paint jobs as well. Rap A Lot was established around 92 and Dj Screw just started really selling tapes. Fat Pat was robbing drug dealers and Mafio was jacking boys for they slab in Hiram Clarke. We use to roll dice at Mr. Kelly’s rip Harvey Love daddy a OG. I use to keep my hand on my pistol when my homies gambled because it was nothing but gangsters shooting dice and boys would cheat. Lol. Those were the days. I was Raheem 2nd Dj at Rap A Lot. We was in the street heavy.
