You’ve never worked on cars aparently. 10 mm most common and if you slip you hope it comes out the bottom cause I swear there is a portal to narnia under ever car hood . Some stuff just vanished when you drop it
@crabmansteve6844

@@Kraken4201 No, I just tend to search more thoroughly and find things that I drop. You can't get away with not finding something in the aerospace industry, there is a process called tool control, every single thing must be accounted for. Our tool boxes are generally shadowed so that you can quickly see if something isn't back in its home, and I paint all my stuff with a very bright orange enamel. If a tool appears to be missing, no one leaves until it's found.

Skookum is a Chinook Jargon word meaning, like, fuckin mint dude, which was a dialect that developed between the natives and white traders on the west coast in the 1800s. So, fuckin, skookum, bud

I run a van in the forklift industry. Not that fancy and definitely not as much storage space, but over all it does the trick. A lot of the floor space gets taken up by used oil pails and parts boxes and jacks and blocks. Hard to keep tidy, but I manage for the most part. And for the record there is something wimpy about driving around in an overweight van fixing shit. Don’t be a wimp just get a 3/4 ton with aluminum box.

I've never lost a 10mm either. Working in the field for 20+ years. In the middle of nowhere, underground, at night, in the mud, sand, rocks, scrap metal, and in any kind of weather, outdoors year around. I've never understood the automotive guys' inability to keep track of their tools in a clean, dry, well lit shop environment.

I run out of a Nissan NV2500.. it’s a 3/4 ton truck frame with a V8 rear wheel drive. They are wider than the sprinter, just as tall to walk inside. Mine has 580k miles on its 2nd engine. The International 4700 that was my mobile service truck hasn’t moved in a year since I got the Nissan set up right

As a 🇬🇧, looking at what you 🇺🇸/🇨🇦 can run, id 🖕 the euro van and go chassis cab/box body, at about 5000kg gross and get it edison’d. soo much less wasted space, fitting out a van is like fitting out a boat, a box is like a building, all the squares fit with no gaps.

Due to a far denser population, Germany doesn't really have that concept of "One guys comes out there and repairs your heavy duty stuff!". Either it's "Well, the next Service Garage is anyway only five Kilometers away." or "Well, we will send to guys." - Plus what I do know is that other machines get used as cranes. I mean, normal workers here still get paid if the Maschine fails and they can't work; there are extra insurances for that too. So mostly its rather a; "Oh, shuuut ... Yeah, pull that thing away and bring a new one while it gets fixed." or a "Well, we fix it here on the spot but with enough people/two trucks" I think the Job of "Pulling something out to the next Workshop" is even more frequent here than the one of "Repairing the stuff at site". Although, on the other hand we've alot of Engineers & Mechanics which are pretty good in keeping production lines running with the minimal equipment, yet we've also stricter rules and regulations which is the reason you often don't find any videos of that sort of stuff. Similar to the "Well, we just use the second CAT as Crane, mate." or "... Well, we've a rope and there's a big tree and we can use the truck to pull the rope, you know?".
