Man, you used a lot of screws! 8 pocket screws for each of those 5" dividers? You used way more screws than Chris did. Are you planning on rolling that cart fully loaded down a flight of stairs? :-) I just built one this weekend. Instead of leaving a 2 1/2" lip on each side, I left a 5" lip on one side and used the 3" leftover (part "L") as a stop, similar to what Chris did, but just screwed in through the bottom. I use it to hold a bunch of 1/8" and 1/4" sheet goods (ply and MDF) cutoffs.

LOL, I guess at the end of the day I would have a few more screws than not enough! This cart is full of hardwood right now and it's pretty damn heavy. Good idea on the 5" thanks for the comment!

What is the purpose of the ledge around the storage bin? Can you just flush cut it?

If you check out the original version Chris built, he used some of the remaining scraps for some dowel rod storage. Basically screwed a few blocks into the side, then ran a piece of ply between the 2 creating a little area to drop dowel rods down and rest on that ledge. You can also do the same for the rear. Thanks for the comment :)

@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOP what about just adding some PVC tubes for dowel rods. That would work. And you could drop other things in it also. Thanks for the reply! Great videos!

The reason your 5" dividers were too long is because Chris's cut sheet is out of alphabetical order. You have to cut part "L" before you cut parts I, J and K because L runs perpendicular to those other three parts. If you had wanted to add the cross pieces for the dowel rod holder, you would have been short one piece - "L". Oh wait! You could have just pocket screwed the 3 cutoffs from I, J & K back together. ;-)
