the grom should be top on the list! get the grom used on craigslist for around 2k it will be the best one of the bunch.. that taco might sound cool. but its not street legal.. the grom on other hand can be ridden everywhere except freeways. though if you are in California like me you have to have insurance also.. but its cheap if you get a motorcycle license and don't get a lot of tickets. I bought my grom with 1700 miles I have put 20k miles on it and its still running strong as long as you maintain it properly. though its honda it will last forever.. I ran out of oil one time and it stalled out.. I put oil in again and it was ready to go. try that with any other vehicle. though after I had it taken apart and some older parts repleaced just to make sure. that thing is a beast.

Some interesting picks. A few, such as the Cub, Monkey and Taco recall my younger days. Pricing of course has gone up, but, surprisingly, in some cases not all that much considering. I think Honda May be missing a bet by not bringing in the Philippines made TMX models. Can’t imagine it would be all that difficult to certify/ adapt it for sale in the US. Clean up the silly graphics, replace the squarish headlamp... Boom! Instant nostalgia! The retail for about 1300 USD in Manila... Honda could easily sell them for near double... Don’t tell them them could charge more...

The problem is that for these smaller bikes it isn't much cheaper to make than a full size one. Sure, less material like steel but there's still the same amount of labor, tooling, design, marketing, etc. and at smaller amounts of production at that. A big producer like Honda can't just slap together some cheap BS like some other companies can and call it a day, they have levels of build quality associated with their products that they must meet to keep their reputation.

Back in the 60s I built a mini bike that looked exactly like the last one. I learned to weld at around 10 years old and had to have the most radical mini bike I could think up. The clutch was manual, it had leading link suspension in the front and back suspension to boot. Way too fast to be legal, it was confiscated by the police and destroyed. I never built another one...

I'm going to take a shot in the dark here & say this man doesn't own a Ebike, that being said his statement could not be more incorrect, a Ebike that can go 100kms on a charge (Wich is about the average 60-100km.) is not the same as a car at all, (Not even close) where a car is restricted to roads, parking lots traffic a Ebike is not, EBikes can go through parks pathways sidewalks (basically anywhere a bicycle can go) they cut all trips by at least 40% so in doing that your battery lasts far longer than you can ever imagine, and the average Ebike sells anywhere from $1200 to $2000.00 (you pay far more of course) you get a vehicle that requires no more maintenance then a quality built bicycle, no fuel, insurance, registration costs, parking costs, parking space costs (if you live in apartment building) and short of batteries every 3-5 years (a few hundred dollars at the worst) anybody to say electric bikes and or scooters just are not there yet, really has no clue what they are talking about.
