Hey, it's Dr. Nelson again from Carolina Active Health, and I'm going to show you a quick and easy mobility routine that you can go through for your thoracic spine in a simple way.
For this mobility exercise, you are going to start on one knee close to a wall. Make sure the knee that is down is closest to the wall. If the floor is too hard of a surface for your knee you can always place a mat, towel, or some other soft surface down. You are now going to interlock your fingers behind the back of your head and open your shoulders so that your back is facing the wall. From this position, you are going to side bend towards the knee that is up. At the point where you cannot go further, start to rotate your body towards the wall until your chest is facing the wall. In a fluid motion, the side bends from that position to the other foot until you reach the end range of that motion. That will conclude the full motion of the exercise.
This is an easy way to get a lot of mobility. All you need is a wall. For further instruction or guidance on how to perform this exercise please refer to our video on it. We hope this helps.
