So I have a 196cc with torque converter and the usual air filter, carb and header upgrades on it. I also have 18 lb valve springs that i never bothered to put in yet but will eventually. I was thinking about swapping out the cam for a better one but not sure which one i should order. What cam would you suggest i buy in order to make my bike hit a top speed closer to the 50 mph mark or higher ? As it sits right now with the stock cam it hits 41 - 42 mph. I really want to get up to 50 minimum.

@@JNC1973 On a MB200, the springs are really light weight. They totally limit RPM potential of the engine. So adding 18lb springs let the engine rev to is full RPM potential .I gained 8 MPH. If your engine already has decent valve springs, 18lb springs won't make much difference. If it does have weak valve springs the 18lb springs will make a difference.

If you wanna a easy set up run a mod 2 cam on 1.3 ratio rockers that set up will run 292 lift for intake and 300 on exhaust the cam itself will be easy on your valve train rockers give the cam the lift it really needs absolute moster

Hey man you really need the non hemi head with the mod 2 and 1.3 ratio rockers the mod 2 has alot of duration no lift so the 265 is gonna feel a little better then the mod 2 when you give the mod 2 the lift it needs it will really wake up and pull alot harder then with the 1:1 rockers .2245 lift add the 1.3 ratio rockers and that will take the mod 2 to 292 lift on intake 300 on exhausted 245 duration for both in take and exhaust with a 109.7 lsa ( THE MOD 2 CAM WORKS BEST IN A NON HEMI HEAD) not to mention the mod 2 with low lift and moderate duration is easier on the valve train then a pointy 265 so you will need less spring pressure to control the valves and possibly get even higher rpms but man do you gotta run the mod2 with ratio rockers it the only way to really feel the potential of that cam
@madness_-yg3lw
2 жыл бұрын
But awsome comparison video when you optimize the engine for the mod 2 cam it will blow the doors off a 265 especially if with no lift it make such close power to the 265 that when you add the lift to the mod 2 it would almost be unfair to the 265 especially if your at optimal compression for the mod 2 of 11.5 :1 but personally when picking a cam i went with one that had duration not lift you can add lift later by adding ratio rockers you can add duration without changing a cam and duration is what gives you power throughout the rpm range lift determines where the power comes on at and lsa controls your where your power band is but in reality theres no bad cams only cams ment for different applications my next build im gonna really push my number in the 212 non hemi im gonna run a 274 cam 260 duration and 1.3 ratio rockers at a 111 lsa i wont share all my engine building secrets but i will tell you one thing start paying closer attention to your lsa and duration you can make lift later
