Nice. Btw, Did you set the fine tune face? Without that, it might be fast about to 20ppm (part per million, 20ppm==1.728sec/day.) (I think ~= +20ppm is the average for most of sensor watch RTCs.) If you dont, I'll highly recommand finetune/nanosec(optional with thermo sensor) feature. Ps.led with red collered one will drain your battery increditably fast. While green one consumes about to 450uA, red led consumes 4500uA. ten times more than the green one at the same brightness level. you can experience it indrectly by voltage drops at voltage face when you lighting red/green led. So, changed my led preference from red@15 to grn@1 for my battery life.

This is incredible. Something I have fantasized about. Would it be possible to have additional sensors attached to it? Such as a barometer, altimeter, and some sort of compass sensor?

Oh, and, also, some sort of way to have the buzzer be much louder? Would be great to be able to use this as a alarm for actually waking me up - something the stock casio doesn't do because the beep isn't loud enough.

I think all those things are possible, but you'll have to roll your own. The creator has kept the sensor connector simple so you could fit all manner of small IC sensor in there. The barometer may be tricky since it will be inside a hermetically sealed enclosure so it may not be sensitive enough to changes in pressure to work properly as an altimeter? I'm not sure. That's a cool idea though. Personally I'd love a radiation dosimeter watch, and you could totally do it with a photosensor like the pocket Geiger but it's too big to fit in a watch yet.

@directive0 that is hopeful. With "roll your own" you mean I'd have to program myself, right? Also, the barometer/temperature/altimeter sensor should indeed be somehow -- :) -- measuring in the outside world, like, say a casio protrek watch. Big issue is that the maker of the sensor watch has now gotten rid of the sensor connector to save costs. So the latest version of his project makes doing what I want impossible... .

@@buildyear86 Yeah the firmware is all open source so you could probably adapt some other watchface to your needs with some C knowledge. As for the new version, yeah thats true, but theres a "pro" version coming that retains the connector for the sensor adapter coming out later so there is still hope if you want to achieve this!

Is it possible to make this mod with an illuminator watch, like F-105W, W-86 or A-168W?

Sadly no. The screen in those modules is totally different and not compatible with this project. It has to be a standard F91W or a watch with the exact same module.

Thanks! Got this working. Would mention that it's not clear which orientation you have to put the metal clips back. I forced it on the wrong way round which was pretty sad, because I thought that the metal prong on the case MATCHES what the copper buzzer is. However it's the other way round, the copper thing is actually free Looking forward to modding.

I probably won't ever do this, but if a f91w ever has electrical issues, it's nice to know I could just get a replacement PCB
