It's an excellent guitar, I play it a couple times per week. It's actually easier to play than my 6 string. The peizio pickup didn't last, but that was my fault. It didn't stick to the wood. I'm planning on doing another video about stick on piezo pickups when I have to change my strings again.

I own a 1978 made in Japan Epiphone FT165 Bard Norlin 12 string. Original owner. Do you know of a brand that is a drop in tuners replacement. As you are aware the tuners are not the best of quality. I prefer not to drill new holes for different tuners. I also use 10 -47 gauge strings but for added depth I replace the low E with a .052 and the low A with the .047. I think it sounds better. Bob

I haven't really looked into replacing the tuners. So far, I've never had any issues, so I can't give you any opinions. Sorry. I also don't use my 12 string enough, so I just get the D'Addario pack and use it as is. Thanks for watching.

Terrible mess, measure and plan before cutting off or filing wood on a guitar.

I did plan and measure. And it actually worked out very well. I finally got the neck to seat fully and the action is perfect all along the fretboard. The piezo fell off on the inside, though. I have a full microphone/piezo pre-amp in my Amazon wishlist that will eventually get installed. Subscribe so you can watch me f**k that up, too.

@@HandlebarWorkshops Good to hear that. I was thinking while watching, that piezo would fall off because of the vibration. I'm sticking a Schaller piezo acoustic guitar pickup on the bridge of my cheap new cello and it falls off after a few hours.

Yeah, but it did what I needed it to do... for awhile. Eventually the little piezo thing fell off and now just rattles around in the body until I get some time (and money) to replace it with something better. However, the neck is still amazing. It has better action than some of my electric guitars.

@@HandlebarWorkshops hey don't get me wrong I have one of these I just put 6strings my problem is i cannot remove the neck coz i can't unscrew it. hard to unscrew coz the past owner rounded the philips screw on it. however the action is still low. sound good on 6 string though.

What I've noticed is that those screws will loosen a bit over a few years and my string action gets a bit high. I just need to tighten those screws to bring it back down. There are ways to remove those screws and replace them with new ones. But if it is working for you, no need to mess with it.
