Good report! Four comments: 1- the plastic "thingies" are called plastic fasteners or push clips. 2- the wake of a car in front of yours will affect your results even if you are one lane offset if you are some three car lengths behind, because the wake expands due to turbulence. 3- I believe your results are inconclusive due to lack of statistical significance. The variation in the "spoilerless" tests is greater than the difference between test averages. 4- I guess that a dark color front spoiler helps to hide rock and sand scratches in the front bumper of a light colored car. I usually prefer the original look of an industrial product, but in this case I think its an improvement that helps maintain the nice surface finish. Regards from Costa Rica !

Great video and the car is looking great! The 6.6% drag reduction would not mean 6.6% efficiency gain at 110km/h (getting near 6.6% would be at more than twice that speed). Seeing consistent efficiency improvements, even at 1-3% and no efficiency losses on any test at 110km/h is however good evidence that it is working. To see over 2% a higher speed than 110km/h would be needed to test (for example US road trip speeds of near 150km/h), and to see anything near 6% it would need to be run flat out on the autobahn at maximum speed to get a near translation between Cd and efficiency gain.

There's interesting information on rolling resistance vs. aerodynamic resistance over speed. Rolling resistance is constant, true. But the percentage of rolling resistance to total performance reduces with increased speed, because aerodynamic drag (resistance) increases with the square function. So double the speed and you get FOUR times the aerodynamic resistance, the rolling resistances is rather small in numbers. Up until about 90 km/h the aerodynamic is not a large factor. BJÖRN please go to germany and drive 150 km/h (max Autopilot speed) , do the test again. The 6% reduced aerodynamic drag should produce about 3-4% less consumption.

Looks good overall, but that gap is terrible! I also have a white Model 3 and I'm still debating if I should get it or not, but that gap is really swaying me towards No. I don't really care so much about any gains in efficiency (of course if it does helps, than great), I'm more worry about any lost in efficiency. I'll need to see more videos before I decide. Also the high price for a piece of plastic (not carbon fiber) is really a big sticking point too. I'm not sure it's worth $700-$1000, when I can get a real carbon fiber lip for $500!

"Based on this model, we estimate that utilizing the front lip, rear wing, and lowering springs will produce 43 miles of additional range (13.33%) at a steady speed of 70 miles per hour, on top of the Model 3’s expected efficiency. When utilized on a Model 3 Long Range Rear Wheel Drive (EPA-5 system rated 325 miles of range) this added 43 miles of range at 70 miles per hour can have significant real-world impact for long-distance driving. In much higher speeds, such as in Germany on the Autobahn, the efficiency gain is estimated to exceed 19% improvement at a top speed of 163mph." would be nice to see a more extensive test where more data can be collected and more variables controlled...
