Sometimes I enjoy watching timelapses of random ship models coming together, so I figured I'd do one of my own and use the opportunity to build a little light destroyer to add to the Super Earth navy. There's even a super small little animation of the finished ship at the end. Obviously, I'll do something proper with that model at some point in the future. But for now, consider this the explanation why it sometimes takes long to get new animations out: Tons and tons of fiddling and messing about in Blender for no particular reason. It's just fun.

This is incredibly cool! I just feel bad that I was stuck doing little bits of nitpicking here and there about it. For example, "light cruiser" doesn't really say much about the ship. Is it a missile boat? A brawler? A glass cannon? Does it have a specialist role? C&C? Orbital support? Carrier? Is it maneuverable? If so, should it have fixed weapons at a larger scale like naval artillery? Is it a hunter vessel or broadsider (all weapons to the front, sacrificing potential rear firing arcs, or a focus on side firing arcs and heavy damage at the risk of overlapping weapons should they turn too far) These are all questions I like to think about when messing around with kitbashes and stuff. I'm not all that skilled with digital modeling, so I don't quite have the freedom you do, but this is really fantastic work! Excited to see what you do next. Just as a side note, I'd say that this is probably something like a line-ship, generally an all-rounder that works well in a squadron of 3-5 vessels of the same class coordinating, usually with a single carrier in support. Each ship brings a little less firepower than expected for a ship of their class, but the main battery packs a decent punch nonetheless, and with it's extensive and robust comms array spread throughout the ship, it works well as a command ship in smaller formations, or as a communication relay in larger engagements. One final note, I've noticed a lot of ships being called SEAF, but sporting the yellow of the Helldiver. I've noticed from the remains of SEAF troops, that their equipment is almost universally blue, so SEAF ships should be as well. Super Destroyers may be yellow, but I think they are remanded to Helldiver command or something similar, so they sport the yellow of the glorious helldiver core. Irrelevant side note: I'd classify a Super destroyers as a specialist orbital support destroyer. It carries a single fighter/bomber and a series of orbit to ground weapons, be it beam weapons, cannon barrages, or railgun strikes, with every weapon solely directed at the problem below the ship, almost no defenses are available, so it would be difficult to defend against any attack from hostile naval forces, and a single dropship, able to ferry small strike teams or light ground armor to support the team on the ground

That's the kind of detailed worldbuilding I love working on in my own projects and a few well-established settings. For Helldivers, though, it's not really a consideration so far. Part of the reason I've shared this timelapse is to give people some perspective on what my Helldiver models are like: Quick builds on the fly, where I mostly take what elements I already have and bunch them up on a new shape as I go along. That's mainly down to the fact that Helldivers is very much a setting in its infancy. So little has been established about the setting overall that anything I make up my mind on now is likely to become obsolete relatively quickly. So I avoid spending much time on nailing down details. In that situation, most decisions are less about worldbuilding, and more about communicating broad ideas. To stick with one of your examples: creating SEAF navy vessels with a distinct color-scheme would be lots of fun. But right now, I mostly want people to recognize these designs as "Ah, that's from Super Earth from Helldivers". So going with the iconic yellow color scheme makes sense. Same goes for the designs themselves. I tend to recreate ships from other franchises in that iconic Helldivers style, because that#s a fun reference to make. That's why you get a fighter that's basically a Viper from BSG, a cruiser that's basically a Systems Alliance Cruiser from Mass Effect, a carrier that's basically, well, a flat-top aircraft carrier. If you're into properly thought-through ship designs, though, I recommend checking out anything related to Perry Rhodan. That series is famous for its technical drawings made - in part - by actual engineers, and an incredibly good continuity in terms of techniologies and their implementation. There's a big archive of these online, too: www.rz-journal.de/Downl/3263.html (also, I've been lucky enough to get featured in that archive so I gotta make that advertisement :D)
