Welcome to Building Modern! In this episode, join us as we embark on a resourceful journey to create a functional ramp using leftover materials and scraps. We'll take you through the process step by step, demonstrating how a bit of ingenuity can lead to accessible brilliance. From design to construction, witness our DIY skills in action as a couple as we turn ordinary materials into a practical solution.
Quick note - we realize a 6:12 pitch is really steep for a ramp! It's recommended to go with 2:12 for most ramps - we weren't sure we'd have the space for this - we may fur it out at a later time closer to 3:12 or 4:12.
In this build, we also use a technique we saw on @PerkinsBuilderBrothers that they use for their stairs. It's the best idea we've seen for making it work on a slope - thanks guys!
Building Modern is all about making the most of available resources, and this ramp project is a testament to our commitment to creative problem-solving. Whether you're a seasoned DIY enthusiast or just curious about accessible design, this episode has something for everyone.
