I am a dedicated spring gun user who ventured in the PCP world. I acquired a small stable of high quality PCPs. However, I hardly use the high pressure air guns simply because they are not as easy to use as the springers. I have found that the Asian made compressors are fragile and almost guaranteed to fail during the warranty period. I now use a Coltri compressor which has been reliable for more than a few months. Still, I prefer the ease of use of my well tuned Weihrauch and Dianas. The PCPs sit forlornly in the safe. I am pleased to see manufacturers continue to offer improved PCP compressors. If I were new to PCPs now, I'd skip anything made in Asia and go directly to Hill or Daystate. I'd use a Hill hand pump until I'd saved enough to buy a European made compressor.

Mine worked great, but only for 51/2 months. Adding silicone oil as required and only using it to fill my two pcp airguns occasionally it stopped pressuring up. Had to send it back to Air Venturi for warranty service about 6 weeks ago, haven’t heard anything from them since. Had to buy the Hill EC3000 in the meantime. The Hill works dramatically better.

Another informative video. Keep em coming Rick. Thanks. This is a little bit gucci for my price limitations, but I really enjoy getting educated on the different models. Either way I learn something in some way with each vid. Thanks again.

Hello Rick, love your videos, looking for your opinion, have first pcp, Benjamin Akela, love it! I will be purchasing a FX crown. Currently hand pump, live too far away for bottle fills! Would you recommend Nomad 2 or Hill etc-3000, or should I go with larger air Venturi compressor, don’t mind spending the $$, I just want to do it once.

Dumb question: You say never start under load. Does that mean you turn the pressure gauge to 0, or open the bleeder valve, or do both at start up. Was unclear about exactly what you did. Then after the motor is running you close the bleeder valve and turn up the pressure gauge to the desired PSI/BAR. Is only one necessary to keep the pressure/load off before starting? Thanks for putting out this information.

I have found 3 to 5 drops of oil per use works best. And add it while it is running so it draws it in.

See my comment before you keep just adding oil.

The instructions should recommend changing the filter inside the oil/ water trap inside, mine quit and now it’s control panel is shot. I finally found a schematic of it and saw that filter. I checked it and it’s was full of oil, crap and probably plugged. Just a warning check that filter. I should say you can’t get a control panel for the first version anymore. I’ll never buy another nomad.

I was thinking this or a newer model compressor from Jts or the rovair the nomad is 200 dollars off so I’m thinking
