Off grid water preparation, a key priority that can be overlooked when starting a homestead.
Just because you have a homestead with a well or a cistern doesn't necessarily mean your water needs wlil be met.
Drought conditions, excessively hot summers all can dwindle water resources before your eyes. Do you have a back up plan?
Alot of homesteaders think rain catchment is the back up plan. But where we live in the panhandle of Idaho often it wont rain for months. So our plastic 55 gallon barrels sit water less.
You may be in a dryer climate and find the same issue. PLUS it takes a lot of 55 gallon barrels to even have half of the water you may need on a homestead.
So for all you inquiring minds having a water back up plan will be KEY to your self sustainability and your WATER preparedness!!
!
Today Starry talks about truck tanks for hauling water from either a municipality (which you should never rely on if you have to...) or a creek or lake or river.
AND using a above ground holding tank and filing it when you have abundant water!
Necessary steps for all homesteads on or off grid!!
