Very happy to see these new mdfcs and I love the Witch Enchanter. I'll be buying a lot of these for my land toolbox deck.

I like these because it makes you want to run less color decks. With 5 color decks you need the untapped duals and tons of them. With these single color untapped ones you can only pack so few in a 5 color deck, but in a mono color deck you can have all of them. This will help boost single color deck, hopefully.

Ive yet to meet a person who doesn't play mdfc lands on land slots

They way I've done it when I've been forcing myself to add them, is typically add them in pairs. I remove a land and a non-land card, and in effect I have bumped up both playables, and lands by 1 each, depending on scenario. It's been the easiest way to phychologically get there. With how powerful a number of these cards are, it shouldn't be hard to repeat that process a couple more times with each deck. I'm so glad they're going in low rarity slots.

players aren't putting too few lands in their deck tho, in EDH the first mulligan is free, which changes a lot, since you don't need your first hand to be good as much and you have much more time to find your lands anyway with games going so long (I mean an average of 36 might be low, but that includes cedh decks)

No, I agree that players are playing too few lands, unless they are also playing 10 ramp spells. One difference between EDH and 60-card Magic is that in EDH you always have an extra "business" card, your commander, that you need mana to cast. So this would also argue in favor of more lands. And the first mulligan being free doesn't mean you should play fewer lands (you want to maximize the best of both hands, which just means maximizing the utility of each hand), it just means you get punished less for it.

42.5 lands. Thanks to MDFCs we can do .5 lands. I'll have to try the 42 lands. My biggest concern is that if a deck doesn't have ramp you just get flooded too many times.

The numbers don't take in consideration that other formats like Modern or Standard don't really Play mana rocks and or fast mana (depending on PL) and you can therefore play less lands.

why is an inclusion of over 3% massive? can you explain?
@jadegrace1312

So I think the idea is that there's such a large card pool so a card even being in 3% of decks is quite a bit. I definitely disagree with the characterization of 3% as massive, but it's a notable amount at least.

It's a somewhat arbitrary line. There are just so many cards in the format (26,000+), that a single card being included in any significant percentage of decks is notable.

Most commander decks have early game ramp where most 60 card decks do not. 36 is an alright amount since it can still cast that early acceleration and card advantage spells in order to find the remaining lands

“This will allow players to put more lands in their commander decks” Clicked on the video thinking it’s just going to be a video about the new lands from MODERN Horizon 3. Find out it’s just a person talking about commander. I love commander but this is a MODERN SET talk about the decks you can legally play because some dumb reason they are not legal in modern…

Why? If he wants to talk about these cards then he can. As a person that likes commander you should know all cards are fair game mostly.

@@toddpacker1015 Sorry I forgot it's Commander Horizens 3. It's not like Wizards cares about Modern. They did the flip plancewalkers not to just let them be commander cards. We didn't get bulk reprints in the Modern set that were blanent Commander cards. We didn't get a joke of a deck that just made fun of Jund saying the commander is a old old old old old old old character. Then have Goyf Tokens. Thanks Wizards for respecting modern and printing this commander stuff. Because you know commander players like playing with powerful cards...

because modern players already tend to play the appropriate number of lands for their strategy (and just generally play more optimally)
