I used this video to help tune up my technique for the Birkie. I only was able to get out and ski 3 times this winter due to schedule and I needed all the help I could get. I had a tendency to step up the hill and use way to much force on my poles which over 50k will wear me down. I worked mainly on keeping my body straight facing uphill and be lighter on my ski pole but increase turnover and was able to get through the race without feeling broken at the end. I'm hoping with a full year of training, I can finally get my wave 1 bib. Thanks for posting

I know that max glide feeling, I figured it out myself when trying to feel each glide. But it is hard to explain to my friends who tend to stomp quick each leg going uphill and gaining not so much glide. Greetings from Estonia!

By vertical femur I feel a thin line between putting too much weight on the front of the ski, which can make you slower...? I'll practice that, thank you..!

Don’t worry. You can’t put your weight too far forward on nordic skis. You have free heels and free flexing bindings at the toe. The farthest you can put your weight on the skis is the bail of your boot. Any farther and you are falling forward, which in reality is what you want to be doing. That’s where the poles come in. As they catch your fall you are beginning your poling. I like to paraphrase THE HItchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: “The art of flying (skiing) is the knack of throwing yourself at the ground….and missing.” If not for those poles you would be eating snow.

You should show "old style" vs "new style" to better illustrate the difference.
