Nice build, I like the hidden charger. I was planning on added a hidden charger using this method on a night stand. 👍🏼

I'm thinking about doing it on an end table. Maybe I'll do it on all my tables. Chargers everywhere!!!!

Ya, that sucked. I think my router was slowly advancing on its own. I need to reach out to Ridgid.

Turned out superb man. The transition at the intro was money and the continuous grain on the drawer and skirt is 🤌🏻

How has the walnut held up? Has it scratched at all from writing?
@HowIDoThingsDIY
2 жыл бұрын
It's held up pretty well. A few scratches and dings but not bad because it's so hard. It's nice that I used a natural finish so I can just apply another cost and it looks like new.

@@HowIDoThingsDIY Cool. Thanks. I’m thinking of using your project as a foundation for a maple with walnut inlay. Appreciate your response!

trying to do something similar, except for a three meter long desk. not sure how to manage the framework for the legs
@HowIDoThingsDIY
Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean. If you use 3/4" wood for the top, there shouldn't be any framework for the legs. They should be able to just bolt to the top.

@@HowIDoThingsDIY I mean weight distribution and the fact that I might need more than two legs because of it, which is not a standard within those office desk-kits that can be risen or lowered. I was thinking of using a 321cm*62cm*3cm (or 2cm thickness with a curtain to add 1,5-2cm extra (to lower the weight)). It is to cover the whole wall of my office, as I need it for multi-purpose use I was first going to buy the counter whole, but after seeing how difficult it is to get something of that size (unless bought custom for a remarkably high price) I was thinking of maybe doing something diy)

@@HowIDoThingsDIY An alternative i am thinking of is to buy two sets of the 180cm walnut tables from ikea, cutting them and adding them together, but i am afraid that will add an ugly line down the middle, and I don't know if that woauld work, given that Ikea's walnut tables are just veneers
@HowIDoThingsDIY

@Lucifer Fati Ya, if you're building a walnut desk, it should be a walnut desk. It's not too hard to make a nice top. If you don't want to make it solid wood, then just buy the entire desk feom Ikea. Just my opinion.
