I'm glad it worked out for you. I don't know what the price difference is between a two bullet mold and a six bullet mold, but I think I might have been tempted to do a proof of concept on a two bullet mold. Then, if I hosed up the mold, I wouldn't have been out as much money and you could always use the mold for a short run of bullets.

Did the same to a lee .50 cal for the .50-70 Milled off two grease groves to make a 340 gr. bullet for a original Spencer Rifle. (converted to Center fire) Worked out fine.

You cant just plunge down into the mould cavity with an end mill to make a flat nose, all that will do is make a spigot on the end of the bullet, you need to make a cutter to cut a new nose profile with a flat point, easy enough to make with high carbon steel, but you will need to line it up accurately.

The end goal is very worthy and you’re obviously a knowledgeable machinist who will void a warranty with no regrets so I didn’t cringe too hard when you disclosed what you were going to do. Somewhere, an engineer for Lee is either cheering or weeping. Now wondering how you can efficiently flat-nose those lever-action bullets.

shooting that old colt is going to b some fun times with those little custom jewels you cast. are you going to powder coat them or just use your luber?

Just size and lube. Factory ammo for that little thing is pricy.

I cast some 440 grain 50 cal flat points in a Lee mold, all they offer is a 2 cavity. They went to cheap on them, cavities are to close, over heating problems crop up extremely fast. I've been tinkering with the idea of making one cavity a hollow point.

Same concept I've been thinking of with the LEE 148 tumble lube wadcutter to turn them into a 75gr wadcutter. How much for this service : ) That is the only 30 cal 6 banger they make...not really sure why. I would really like a 6 banger 150gr FN for .30 cal.

Interesting process, ever think about making your own bullet molds by casting them in aluminum?

I'm in West Virginia. I work just across the river from Gallipolis OH. We get it all here. My boss lives near Rio Grande OH. We can tell if you are from out of the area. They always pronounce it like the river in Texas. The I in Rio is an I not an E. We drop the E in Grande. It is also the home of Bob Evans.
