I respectfully disagree with you lol. This one scene doesn't do it any justice for Moesha behavior at times. It just made Frank out to be an unfair parent. And that was not the case. Mo was no angel on the show when it started. She always got into something but she was also in high school and finding her way in life as a teenager. But she always got into something, you will just have to watch the episodes that lead up to this scene. Cause Mo use to be buggin out😂😂 she was the female version of her brother Dorian (Ray J) during the early stages of the sbow. And he gave Frank more hell than Mo did lol. Frank wasn't always the most easy going father at times. But he protected his daughter just like most fathers would. He even caught her and Q almost about to have sex in her room. Without even knowing it. And that wasn't even in the episodes just yet that was later on down the road on the show. And we all know he didn't approve of Q at all. Cause he was just a "thug" to Frank. Here's the thing with me because I grew up on this show. Its apart of my childhood. Moesha was very mature for her age physically and intellectually. They wanted her to be responsible but they also wanted her to stay a kid. Teen years are very tricky because your body is going through changes and then you have boys that you are interested in and then you have school to focus on and your parents expect you to do chores and have responsibilities. You gotta learn how to balance it all.

I see from Frank's point of view as long as you live under his house that's his rules completely understand but he's also a hypocrite too because he had a whole another child outside marriage that he didn't tell any of his family about until the last season 😂
@MissLadyG99

You mean he didn't tell his immediate family about Dorian because his family knew about the him and so did Moesha and Myles' mom. All of them went along with the lie that wasn't even started by Frank and they continued to lie to Moesha, Dorian, and Myles. Because Dee came into his life at a later time and by that time the lie had "become the truth" (not that a lie ever becomes the truth) Frank probably didn't see feel the need to say something to her (messed up as that is.... I guess he had gotten used to Dorian being his nephew).

Tbh, this scene only highlights why it's important to be an authoritative parent rather than an authoritarian; One parents and disciplines with the goal of improvement, the other disciplines with the expectation of perfection. Frank used the same stubborn tactics over and over again rather than viewing each situation with nuance or recognizing Moesha as an autonomous, growing and fairly responsible kid who would've been pretty receptive to a heart to heart once in awhile and therein lies the problem. It was like his mindset never changed through every problem she had to work out and so things between them remained stagnant; Their relationship never grew because her own character development was at odds with his lack of development, so every time some new situation arose he had to act like he "didnt know what she would do", which became a trope anyone would get tired of after awhile. He also failed to consider himself as somebody who had a whole lot of growing and learning to do, too, which is where I think they dropped the ball with his character and ultimately caused the shows end. It would've been a game changer to see a black father/parent that started out as an authoritarian, dictative figure who, as time went on, began to acknowledge the value of understanding his children on a deeper level every time they made a mistake and thus fostering closer, less tense relationships with them. It would've made the "child on the side" story arc so much more complex, interesting and cushioned rather than a fucking travesty that outed him as a self-righteous hypocrite. And that's not even my opinion, it's literally why the show ended. That story arc upended what was already a very flimsy character and audiences ended up hating him. But had he been one with nuance he would've had the space to take accountability for his actions plus he could've both examined and reconciled his own shortcomings and how that often times *wrongfully* resulted in projection. I feel like a lot of people wouldve seen it that way too :/
