I remember Steve Lamacq playing this in its entirety on his show back then, and when he mentioned the following day that he was going to play the full version again, I was ready to hit record on my tape deck. Amazing track.

This song reminds me "The End" by the Doors; it ends much like Robbie Krieger's climatic guitar solo, but it ends all too abruptly. Other than that, it's got the potential to become one of the best rock anthems since Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven".

dude...look up a band called Tortoise, find the song Djed, its 20 mins or so and is one of the best post rock songs ever. If u haven't heard of Tortoise, I highly recommend checking them out, suuuuuper chillll...especially the album TNT, pre-welcome

It´s weird but whenever I watch this video I start to see things in the clouds on the photograph, first the clouds start to move and then it´s like soldiers marching forward. And I´m NOT tripping on anything. Anyway, it´s a fantastic song!

Until about the 7 minute mark, I heard more of the Oh Chanukkah melody than Avinu Malkeinu. Maybe those who are musically literate can explain that to me. Regardless, listening to this composition is now part of my annual routine in preparation for the high holy days.

Yes, we know. I assume the band would have considered it disrespectful to use the original title for their version. Plus, Mogwai have always been rather tongue-in-cheek with their instrumental titles anyway.
