Fellow gamers, we stand on the brink of a revolution. A revolution against the corporate greed and corruption that has infected the gaming industry for far too long. We must take a stand and demand change. The time has come for us to rise up and say "enough is enough." We cannot continue to let game developers and publishers take advantage of us with overpriced DLC, microtransactions, and loot boxes. We must take back our gaming experience and demand that games be created with our enjoyment and satisfaction in mind, not just to make a quick profit. But this revolution is not just about the gaming industry. It's about standing up against the larger systems of oppression and inequality that plague our society. We must fight for a world where everyone has access to quality games, regardless of their financial situation or social status. Together, we can create a new gaming landscape, one where creativity and passion are the driving forces behind game development, not just profits. So let us band together, gamers of all kinds, and demand a better future for our industry and for ourselves. Let us start a revolution that will change the gaming world forever. SPOILERS AHEAD. DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED: Regarding the ending, I think Charlie has it wrong. Both of their viewpoints aligned until Cal wanted to bring the Path with them. Cal wanted to use Tanolor as a base of operations for an army to fight the Empire while Bode wanted an escape for good. Training an army invites conflict which breached Bode’s plan of basically exile for his daughter. I don’t think it’s dumb to have that point. Could it be stronger? Maybe. Am I fine with it tho? Yes. There’s enough reason for that

To add onto that I do think the final encounter with Dagan Gera really messed with both heros and the way Dagan was inside their minds every step of the way, for Cal more though. So with Cal it was to give into evil or give up and for Bode it must have been more related to the good people he has undoubtedly murdered and has also given into his fears and failures, unlike Cal. So the ending isn't totally bad it's good but just felt weirdly placed. They should have the betrayal with Bode first then the final encounter with Dagan happens, but the better story would have been Dagan surviving since he was just that little more powerful than Cal. Based on his possible age, time spent dedicated to learning the Force, mutch longer than Cal and having great combat prowess with both the Force and Saber. So they should have had it where Dagan escapes and Cal awaits his arrival in the next game starting off with a brutal attack on Tanalor and Master Cal Vs Dagan would be an amazing start to the game. But hey ho, whats it matter lol
@theprodigalsun__

But Cal just wanted to help the hidden path have someplace to escape to. He wanted to share Tanalor, not make an army. He said as much to Merrin before Bode betrayed him and told Bode that when they fought
@starwarskid01
Ай бұрын
@@theprodigalsun__ I definitely get what you mean. I think the army idea was mainly Dagan's, but it is something that Cal entertained. But you are correct in that his main goal was to have it be a refuge for the Hidden Path. The issue that Bode has, whether it's the army or refuge idea, is that he was expecting this to be a one-way trip and a permanent escape from the Empire. If Cal were to make Tanalorr a grand sanctuary for Imperial refugees, then there's a greater risk of the planet being discovered, given that there'd be a lot of activity around the Koboh system. That's not a risk Bode was willing to take, which I think explains his actions.

I gotta say, the actual writing for each of the characters and the voice acting was absolutely on point. The first game had some phoned in stuff and some of the NPC's were so shitty I wish I was deaf, but in Jedi Survivor, it's next level. It reminded me of Bioware RPGs of old. The music tied it all together, but how each cinematic or character conversation was presented, they clearly gave a shit. @@KarazolaX I dunno. I didn't hate it. I think it definitely could have just been the original one the whole way through, but the secondary Villian did make sense, to a degree, especially after finding out what they did to survive. It would twist anyone to be more scared for the ones they love, and the environment and things they had to do after would've taken a toll. I think what really sold it to me was how they DID seem conflicted on it, at least at certain moments when confronted, but ultimately decided that they had to do what was best for their loved ones despite what they wanted because if they were to risk it it could easily lead to their death. That being said, it might not have been necessary. The last quarter did felt a little tacked on, perhaps due to the second to last location feeling a little underwhelming, and I think if they stuck with the original antagonist and left it a bit more grandiose it could've been more akin to the old republic/high republic epics, but I also understand that that's not the time period they're in. In the time of the empire, stories like these are more common where it shows that everything has been corrupted, more shades of grey than the true battle of good versus evil with legendary warriors, to where even what might have used to be considered allies in the time of the republic has no choice but to be enemies because of how few choices everyone has.

Bode was planning on escaping to Tanalorr with Cal and the others until he wanted to give it to the Hidden Path - who would be ferrying in and out refugees and military assets constantly, which would draw attention to Tanalorr. And Bode also didn't want to start an army to fight the Emprie, he just wanted a safe place to settle down with his daughter and friends.

Cal and Bode were aligned up until the point that Cal invited the Hidden Path to Tanalorr. Bode wanted a safe place to live with his daughter free of the dangers of the empire, and Cal wanted to turn it into a planet that raises jedi for guerilla warfare, because throughout the game you learn that that's entirely what Cal has been doing in the time gap between Fallen Order and Survivor.

They've never seen it, it could be a fucking hellhole for all they know but they're instantly like ''OH SHIT THERE'S NO EMPIRE? THAT'S MY NEW HOME!!''. Then add to this Bode's stupidity and how he turns ''evil'' in the final boss fight. This motherfucker says he's doing everything for his daughter, and THEN PROCEEDS TO ALMOST KILL HER LIKE 5 SEPARATE TIMES with his dumbass outbursts. It completely devalues the character and everything he stands for.

It's the whole reason for Dagan Gera's turn into the Darkside and we see from Dagans memories that there is even a Jedi temple there that was meant to train younglings. After losing his wife Bode did everything to protect his daughter even working for the empire hunting down many people, along the way he fell to the Darkside just like Anakin did. I worked on the cinematic and animation side of things but that was something that always made me annoyed when they were gonna release it as is. Unfortunately it was already delayed several times and with TOTK coming out only a couple months after i think they just couldnt afford to delay it again. It is still the first ever game i worked on and my first introduction into enjoying the star wars franchise so itll always have a soft spot on me.

He played the ending at like 3am and speed ran most of it. I think he completely glossed over the details about how that certain character wanted to be a triple agent but went back on that decision after Cal talked about moving the Hidden Path there and that place becoming an eventual target for the Empire. I mean all the set up for the turn was done during the D.G fight but if you weren't really paying attention I could see how that one character's betrayal might seem silly.
@Bluerock121

Bodes character at the end made actually 0 sense. If he was a force user the entire time, why didn’t he use it during the fight with Dagan? They easily could’ve lost that fight and they never would’ve gotten to tanalorr at all.
@Swerg20
Жыл бұрын
@@Bluerock121 Bode wasn't about to break his cover just to save Cal. He wasn't at risk of dying and losing Kata just yet. Dagan was entirely focused on Cal at the time with him just kind of toying and tossing aside Bode. Bode didn't even have a lightsaber and probably hadn't even used his force powers for a long time. Remember that Cal couldn't even sense any force powers coming off of Bode. Had Cal died then he probably would have broken out his force abilities to survive. Plus Bode barely had any moments in that fight, by the end Dagan incapacitated them both with force visions that completely overwhelmed Bode. If Cal found out he had force abilities that would open a whole can of worms that he didn't want to answer. Lastly it's only after they defeat Dagan that Bode fully commits to betraying Cal. Remember that Bode's main target was not actually Cal but rather it was Cere Junda and Saw Gerrera. That can be found in the force echoes after the end of the game. Especially since Bode was also chasing after the information for which inquisitor killed his wife. Bode was on board with Tanallor being a safe haven when it was just going to be for Cal and his family other than Cere and Eno. The game also talks about how Bode is a bit unhinged when it comes to Kata's safety. The betrayal makes perfect sense and fits his character just fine.

Bode wanted a safe place for his daughter and cal wanted to use the planet to rebuild and strike back at the empire . Cal would be risking everyone’s life . I'm playing through Fallen Order, and tbh I have some gripes with it. Mostly the combat. So in the start, your "pool" of force powers is really small so I learnt not to use it too much which ended up carrying into the late game and probably hindered my experience with experimenting with force powers. Then the poise... enemies poise meter will completely refill and start blocking again as soon as they take a hit meaning that they are essentially immune to combos and you just end up parrying them into oblivion.
@potato6785

Poise low-key ruins the combat. Almost every enemy has a poise meter which, like you said, immediately refills but requires a grind of parries to break in the first place on higher difficulties. You know what isn’t the Jedi power fantasy? Having a drawn out struggle battle against a fucking droid. Battle droids that are one hit killed in every other medium for this universe can take 20 hits from Cal. Is he using a lightsaber or the hidden dildo weapon from GTA?

I think the ending was pretty good on my end. The game revolves around fear and uncertainty. Some overcome others falls to it. Which the ends makes it the endpoint of for everyone's journey. Gotta disagree. Story felt weak, especially compared to the last game.

Even with a weak story never made the game feel worse since it wasnt the highlight this time around. It was actually a nice story at many parts and sometimes a little predictable. I instantly knew who the main villian was and thats ok. The gameplay alone and world exploring made up for all the lacking elements. Ik people care about fps and I agree it should be better optimized but never did it ruin the experience to where I personally couldnt play. The fact the game is so vast and basically was the first game times 10 is amazing. I felt the first game had issues with level design not feeling natural but this game made most levels feel not so video game like on many occasions. I hope the fps drops dont stop people from playing this amazing game since its only in very little areas where its really bad. Not once was I in an area where it felt completely unplayable and i was even streaming it in 1080p 60fps. I know people will be angry at it but its not unplayable by any means nor really the worse. But im someone who grew up not caring about fps in my single player games because it was just about the gameplay for me and whether i felt good and had fun. Animations and environment are beautiful and the enemies are great esp for star wars fans. I wish there was more with the main story esp for the first villians but Rayvis was maybe the best villian while what I will call B was kind of lacking but it created an interesting moral dilema which sadly wasnt explored more. In my opinion gameplay visuals and animations plus just the vast ideas they had easily 10 out of 10 story was maybe 7-10 couldve been better at times but still hit when it needed to. If you enjoyed fallen order this game will be a surprise for you on every level i couldnt believe it was the continuation if Fallen Order tbh. Solid ass game honestly game of the year once they fix optimization it just hits perfectly on the feeling. Please dont let a few laggy areas stop you from playing since in all honesty its very lil just turn off raytracing and turn down some graphics since it hardly makes a difference when playing. If lag when in a huge area stops you please reconsider since it hardly makes up whats in store most of the game does run solidly

The Rangcore boss was one of my favorite boss fights in all of gaming. Genuinely had so much fun with it. It's a shame there aren't more unique legendaries. Regardless, great game.

EA are a disgrace of a company. It’s so sad how their games can be significantly improved in various aspects but they choose not to because they’ll continue making money

*****SPOILER COMMENT WARNING***** Just wanted to say on the topic of the story I felt like this game really kicked it up a notch writing Cal’s development. I know it may look dumb for nobody to have realized Bode was a sith but I feel like it played really well into the trope of every Jedi encountering the dark side and Cal’s lifelong struggle with losing those close to him and really just suffering through a long fought fight since he was a child. It also touches on the troupe of Jedi attachments similar to Anakin and Cal is forced into a path where he has to balance his life as a Jedi against the empire while being able to let go of attachment through his lost loved ones in the process. Beautiful story for a Jedi imo. 9/10 story for the setting of this game.

Performance issues aside, I absolutely love this game. It was an absolute blast from start to finish and the progression of your abilities along side the story was cathartic. Spoilers: Considering Force Slow is a Dark Ability, seeing what happens during the last act had me extremely giddy. Just that sudden stop in a room full of enemies just to be told "use force slow and unleash the dark side." And that Darth Vader fight, getting to actually fight the man was... I'll be honest, it scared me a good bit after what he did in Fallen Order. I was prepared to get curb stomped and you know what? I did. 26 times in fact.

I waited to play this game after they took care of the issues, and it’s wonderful. If you’re seeing this MM after I post this comment, give it a(nother) chance. This game is wonderful.

I’ve been really enjoying the game so far, and the only problems with performance I’ve ran into is in really big areas it turns into a slideshow sometimes but hasn’t been terrible. Maybe I got lucky😂

I recently finished it and I liked it a lot. The plot twist with Bode was also great but I wish he wasn’t ex Jedi, I wish he was more of a skilled bounty hunter type like Boba Fett

It’s a shame it rolled out nearly unplayable, but the recent stability patch has helped. Also the cross guard style saber force abilities are pretty critical imo, they cover the style’s weaknesses perfectly. I get a lot of use out of them.

And if any corporate death squads ask, i'm a handicapped small child.
