In this video, I give a summary of the life history, behavior, diet, appearence, and location of the Mojave Fringe-toed lizard found in Southern California. As well as how to distinguish the different species between eachother. In SoCal, there is the Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard (Uma scoparia), Coachella valley Fringe-toed Lizard (Uma inornata), and the Colorado Fringe-toed Lizard (Uma notata). A unique feature of these guys are the scales found on the feet which allow them to run over loose sand without sinking. All deceased specimens shown in this video were courtesy of my herpetology class, no reptiles were harmed in the making of this video.
