Moki Knives are absolutely beautiful! I only have one, but plan on remedying that. The little VIP is certainly a stunning model. Cheers, as always!

Couldn't agree more! If you can pick them up at reasonable prices, you should.

I remember the video on the three-way trade😂. There has been a couple of MOKI knives come up on the second hand market. I was very tempted on both. All due to watching your videos. I've also been trying to buy some cheaper Japanese made pocket knives on AAPK that look very well made. I love your videos, Slick. I aspire to be as frank and in-depth as yourself. Thank you Eric

😳 that’s very kind of you to say, but I’m sure it’s more than I really deserve! My main collection theme is always Sheffield knives, but I have a Japanese side collection of about 30 or 40 Japanese knives. Some of these are pretty expensive, but I’ve a pile of Higonokamis, small Spydercos, Kershaws, Gerbers etc. They’re generally very well made and some aren’t too expensive!

Every time you show a Moki, I find myself looking for a Moki. I'm looking seriously at the Moki Glory which is approximately 3 3/8 inches closed. My fear is that if I guy it quince wood I'm going to want to get it in pearl as well. I came across the Small Moki. It was called the KAICUT. They are now a MK105 or a MK107, depending on the covers. Thanks for the great run down. Always like to see your Mokis

The Glory is the same as, but one size down from my Pliant, about the same size as my Kronos. Paddy reviewed one a week or two back. Lovely knife and probably a better size for city edc, but plainer and in AUS8 rather than VG10.

That´s a lovely little guy. It reminds me of the Moki model "Leaf" which have a leaf of abalony inletted instead of a shield. There is a Leaf with Mother of pearl instead of wood ( i have both). I have about ten Mokis in my small collection. Moki is by far my most favored maker, they have amazing quality. EDIT: The Kronos is a serie of three sizes with cow jawbone that is cut to look like stag. There is also the discontinued Ares serie that is like the Kronos but with red cut bone. The most beautiful of then all IMHO.

Now you mention it, don’t most of their patterns come in 3 sizes? I like them very much too, and hopefully I’ll have more in the future. I really like mother of pearl and they do several designs with it. And it’s not just the designs, but the way they are executed is also superb! I may bitch about the price of the Pendant, but you can’t fault the quality, it is absolutely perfect!

@@slick_slicers Some of their series comes in threes but not all. Mother of pearl and abalone is something of a speciality for them so you know they do them good! Take a look at "Leaf" in MOP if you like a small knife with VG10.

.... lovely little things, as always from Japan, If you buy from Japan Direct they are £100 plus £10 postage.

By the time you’ve added 30% at customs and run the risk of it either being seized or returned to Japan by UK Border Farce, it’s a close run thing, though if I ever make it to Japan, you know what’ll be bursting the zips on travel bag!

Great review of a beautiful knife, I have a few gentlemens knives from Boker but would like to add a Moki or two.

I also have a fondness for small knives, I understand the reasoning for the higher price some of them have. If you look at the material cost, you would think the price is too high for their size. However, that is misleading because the higher price is because of the added difficulty making a small knife. Actually they are much more difficult to make function as perfect as large knives with equal quality. Each part requires more precise fit and finish for its small size. The shield for example has to have the exact details as a large one and is much smaller. The tooling used to make large knives likely cannot make small ones. Tempering blades and springs is simply more difficult to do correctly. Anyone that believes the saying; a large knife can do anything a small one can do never put a Bowie knife in their pocket. 👍😆😅

I carried a Bowie for all my outdoor stuff for about a decade or more, and it is amazing what I did with it, but when I went to work in the city, it really didn’t go with the suit, so I took to carrying a 2” lock back instead. Each could probably do 80% of the things that the other could do, but the Bowie would have been frowned upon in the bank! These are little jewels, so it’s no wonder they’re expensive.

Some lovely looking knives but way overpriced for the materials used in my opinion. £340 for the jigged bone lock back! Thanks David.

It’s ‘just’ £240, but yes they are certainly pricing themselves out of the market.

I enjoyed that video thoroughly! Perhaps Moki can get away with selling their branded knives at luxury prices due to buttering their bread with all of the OEM work that they do. They do seem very nice from what you and others have said. Thanks again 🙏

@@swamp.stomper The Boker Germany Gentleman’s Lockback appears to be very similar to the Moki and comes in Delrin Bone Wood and Stag So they vary in price from $45-100
