MAM I AM NOT UNDERSTAND stability of DNA(one OH) and RNA(2- OH). i think DNA in 1c=(h,oh), 2c=(H,H only), 3c=(H,OH), 4c=(H), 5c=(CH2OH) but HOW to DNA in only one OH groups. please help me by e-mail.

Hey at Carbon number 2 Rna contains OH but DNA contains H since Rna has one more oxygen so it is more reactive and less stable Bcoz oxygen contains lone pairs of electrons which increases the EN and reactivity
@Akash-rn6oc

Tune jo structure bataya hai wo deoxyribose sugar ka hai na ki DNA ka. 1 c mese OH replace hota h nitrogen base se aur 5th carbon ka bhi OH replace hoke phosphate group aata hai... To dna me bas 1 OH hai

mam, thymine will lose a methyl group and forms uracil and cytosine will remain same then how cytosine forms uracil????
@yashubhardwaj6894
5 жыл бұрын
Wen u go thru their st... Cytosine n uracil are structurally same except dat cytosine has -NH2 at C4 which it loses by deamination... And thus bcms Uracil

Why we are not counting OH present at first carbon
@parvathik3282
7 жыл бұрын
Dheeraj Dabas Because OH of the first carbon is substituted to bond with the nitrogen bases(purines and pyramidines). The niteogen bases are always attached to the 1st carbon.
