Bikepacking the Molesworth Muster Trail and Rainbow Station is a loop in the Marlborough and Canterbury regions that I rode in late December 2020. It's a great wilderness adventure in New Zealand back country with camping along the way :) It took me 7 days, and was approximately 415kms. The weather was sunny, windy, rainy and it also hailed! Some snow appeared on the surrounding hills which dropped temperatures close to zero. Brrrr, a cold night or two in my tent! ^_^
Loved the encounters with the farm animals! I like to take my soprano recorder on trips with me cause I love to play Celtic folk tunes.
There is a map at the beginning of the video showing my journey.
My bike set up:
Bike: Trek X caliber 8 2020 hard tail, 29er
Bags: Apidura fork bags and seat bag, Sea to Summit dry bag (20ltrs) for the handlebars, Robokiwi top tube bag, my own home made frame bag! (the zipper broke which was unfortunate), Topeak frame cages, Thule pack n pedal tour rack.
Tent: Kiwi Camping 2-person tent
Bedding: Macpac escapade XT 700 down sleeping bag, Sea to Summit Ether Lite XT bed mat (holy deities this sleeping mat was plush as! loved it, so soft and squishy, worth the price).

Thank you to Adrian von Ziegler for his music!
