Molly Scott represents KnollStudio and is looking forward to sharing the incredible history of Knoll and some of their iconic designers. 83 years ago, the Hans Knoll Furniture Company was created and from very early on has focused on collaborating with the best designers, architects, artists and more.
Florence Schust met Hans Knoll and it did not take long for the two to join forces and begin to form an incredible partnership - shortly followed by falling in love and getting married. Florence quickly recognized the need for sculptural furniture to fit interior spaces and she utilized her incredible network, including Saarinen, Bertoia and Mies van der Rohe and brought them over to create pieces of furniture for Knoll that have become iconic and timeless classics. Florence created The Planning Unit as well as Knoll Textiles and would personally design furniture to fill gaps - but would leave the sculptural pieces to people like Saarinen and Bertoia. Hans Knoll was killed in a tragic accident in 1955 which is when Florence became the sole owner of Knoll until 1959. Although Florence was no longer running the company, Knoll has always looked to her incredible ‘view of design and rigorous standards’. This even includes the types of vases that are used in the Knoll Showrooms as well as the flowers that are put in each vase.
To this day, Knoll collaborates with current designers and continues to go into their archives to bring Mid-Century collections back into production.
Knoll is a Constellation of Design Driven Brands and is a leader in both Workplace and Residential design.

At a very young age Molly was introduced to design and architecture through her parents and their love for modernism. Molly studied Fashion Marketing & Merchandising and worked in the industry for many years before deciding to move into furniture. She was the Studio Proprietor at Design Within Reach before moving to LightForm where she represented both decorative and architectural lighting within the A&D community. In 2016 Molly was approached by Knoll to represent KnollStudio and she decided to follow her passions back to Mid-Century furniture.
Now with one of the largest and most iconic furniture manufacturers, Molly Scott lives and breathes design. Her long and successful track record as a sales leader is due to her understanding of the client, their needs, the product that she sells- but also the history behind the pieces and the incredible people who designed them. As the KnollStudio, Rockwell Unscripted and Muuto representative in Eastern Canada, she is responsible for managing a large portfolio of A&D firms, clients as well as retailers across several provinces and into the Caribbean. She is passionate about the Knoll brand and the iconic pieces and designers. As approachable as she is knowledgeable, she’s often called upon to deliver in the crunch.
